My pickup truck is now a driver after months of knocking out dents with a hammer the old fashioned way. It is in primer. Has been lowered 4 inches and the bed was chopped 2 inches. Hood trim was shaved and holes on front of hood were filled. Grille was modified. Flathead V8 and 4 on the floor with dual exhaust. Bed floor is steel sheet covered with Rhino liner top and bottom. Yes, it's for sale and no it's not expensive. Check it out.
Here it is when I bought it 8-9 months ago. Thank you to my step son Jerry for sticking with this tough project. He did the dirty work.
Thanks. We removed 4 leafs from the springs all the way around. Still has plenty of suspension unless you plan on hauling a heavy load or something.
That looks awesome! Anything out of the ordinary on the beating out of the dents/dings? There's always some story there. Also, I'm looking at doing something similar w/ a '51 Studebaker truck. Great turn out!
There was also alot of cutting out rust holes and he made his own steel patch panels and welded them in place. Not much bondo on this one.
I'm going to let it go for $6500 so the next owner can afford to finish it and still have a low budget hot rod truck.
I love the way that thing sits. You did that by simply removing a few leaves huh? How is the ride? What tire wheel combo does it have?
The ride is good. It had way too many leaf springs anyway. Unless you want to haul a full load of hay, sand, firewood, etc. it should be fine. The tire size is the correct stock size 6.50-16. Steers fine with no rubbing. We only had to buy some new shorter u-bolts for the springs which were cheap. It was no big deal.
