Sure...go ahead and do your thing...just not here. Join the NSRA or your local Cadillac club...yikes.

  2. Sounds like a bunch of old women raggin on Mildred's new hat! Do I detect a hint of Jealousy? It may not meet the specific parameters of the HAMB but, it's a cool find anyway, be it a donor, a seller or a keeper. Personally I’d drive it. I have a '78 Lincoln Town Coupe, (future donor car for a '51 Merc I haven't talked my neighbor out of yet). I like to fire up and scoot low around the neighborhood from time to time. It's a real square old POS but it has a smooth running 460 and despite being as big as the QE-II it goes like stink and I like it so, so what? Besides it'll scare the hell out of the guy's driving their jelly bean cars while they sip their latte and answer their cell phones. Just check the trunk for bodies and go for a ride.

  4. About $140 a ton here.

But seriously... I kid, I kid. It's not the best Cadillac but it's still a Cadillac. Drive it and enjoy it until you can't stand it and then sell it for the next afficianado of outrageous fashion to enjoy. They aren't building anymore of these! Share the good times.

  8. Clean it up and enjoy it for a while, then sell it since the gas milage is going to be around 10 or so - miles, if you're lucky, kilometers if you're not. Yeah, it's not a '58 or anything, but hell those old 58s are only good for demo derby cars anyways right? No one gives a **** about them!

I used to drive daily in a '72 Grandville. Midsize compared to that, I guess, a little smaller and only a 455 in it. If you like the feeling of cruising down the highway on your living room couch, wondering why everyone is only doing 35, looking down and seeing they're actually doing 70, you'll like this car.

The locks are stupid easy to change yourself if you want, although I think on one that nice I'd have a locksmith come do it rather than take the doors apart to change the cylinder - I find I can never get all the same damn parts and clips back eaxctly 100% the way it was before. The column lock, pop the wheel, pop the lock plate (requires a special tool, but a smart guy could probably make one), and one bolt holds the cylinder in the column.

Probably should add, too, these are becoming the '50s cars of the '70s-80's. They're just old enough people are starting to remember them as the cars their parents had when they were kids. And they're old enough to qualify for an AACA event - someone just getting into cars can take one like that, just hang onto it and maintain it, and take it out every so often with a good shot of winning a trophy. The show I was at yesterday, someone actually had a newer Caddy sedan on the field - like an '80-'81. No one is much saving these cars, either, I can find parts and parts cars for '50s cars easier than 70's cars. Thats why I ended up with three '72 Pontiacs - I drove one until the frame broke, drove the second one until some old lady pulled out in front of me and I hit her, then I got a chance to pick up a 2-door basically in trade for some **** I had no $$$ in, and grabbed it. I probably should gut the 4-door and sell it for a demo car, but I can't bring myself to do that with it. Then again, it's not a '62 Chrysler either, so...
