    loudpedal,

Great photo's of the excellent detail work on your belly tank. What a great ride to be building in the foot steps of the SoCal tank. I'll be waiting to hear the next "200 mile club member " name soon.....

You guys nailed it. Great tank! I really like how you hung the quicky. Using the side braces to pivoting heims. Very very well thought out.
Can't wait to see it setting records. Good job.

Damn now I feel like a slacker... excellent work... thanks for the pics, I love seeing this kind of progress...

  5. Cool. Is the driver's compartment as short, as in a shorter person would have to drive it, as it looks?

    Thanks,
    Kurt

The driver sort of lays down in this car. Our biggest guy is around 6' 2", 210lb. We built the car around him.

Great build, keep the pics comming. Questions, whats that thing behind the engine with the 4 black tubes sticking out the top? And, what is the wheelbase length? It looks longer that the other lakesters. Thanks,

    Mike

The black tubes and such are part of the managment for the air shifter. Wheelbase is 140".

Deek you weigh more than 210?? What's the number??? I was guessing 210...

Ok, so anyone who weighs more than Deek will have to go see Jenny Craig before their driving dutys.

Like the rear suspension, pretty inovative. You guys have all probably built a lot of cars before so I am not telling you anything new but the devil is in the details! You have the fun stuff done now you have about 6 months of "5 minute jobs" left! Nice looking car! Looking forward to seeing it at the salt.

    Super bad ass!!

  25. Now that's what I love to see...a customer that actually builds a tank to run on the Salt. I can't tell you how many I made that have become wall hangings or just dangle from the rafters.
Keep an eye out for New Yorker, Ron Richardsons new tank that will be on the Salt for the first time after several shake down runs at Maxton.

    That is SUPER-BAD.

The narrow suspension pickup points kind of scare me though, seems like a lot of leverage from the wheel ends of the axles could make for a "Tacoma bridge" effect.

Also, what size Goodyears are those on the back? I love 'em.

The car has sat for the past few months because life keeps getting in the way. My family bought the project from the club, so it's going to take a bit more time before the car hits the salt...
