These are not my cars I am posting for owner who does not do computers. His name is Steve and he can be reached at 816-924-8874. Imminent domain has been declared on his personnel collection and everything has to be moved or sold. About 50 cars and trucks all 40s-70s and priced to sell. Partial list includes:
    8 or 10 58-64 Chevrolet cars
    1941 Chevrolet truck
    1946 Chevrolet truck
    1946 Chevrolet panel
    several 47-53 Chevrolet trucks
several 50's International trucks, one former small fire truck, one boom truck
    1953 Saab with extra parts
    some 60's fullsize cars
Missing some but at least gives an idea. They either have to moved or sold within the next 30 days or they will be crushed. Prices given are firm and obviously time is of the essence!
I live nearly an hour away but if I can help somebody out I will. Could possibly provide delivery for a fee and if car is paid for. Steve does not have long distance so if you don't get him try again. I can be reached at 816-619-2109 and will answer what I can.
PLEASE tell him Caleb sent you!
Help Steve out and lets save these cars!

I talked to Steve this morning, and told him about the HAMB. He has some '41 - '47 K series International trucks, and some '59 - '62 Chevys out there. There's even a early-mid 60's Cadillac if anyone wants an awesome drivetrain out of it!

I'm local in Kansas City, and have a 16' car hauler trailer. I can also answer some questions.

If enough folks beg for pics, I may be able to post some crappy camera phone ones - you know, not the best quality, but they get the job done.

Ok- this isn't the posters stuff and he doesn't know individual prices to be in the classifieds, so in a effort to save some old time from being crushed,I'm posting on the main HAMB board so maybe you guys can call and see if there is some good tin to save.

Just call the numbers on here and not post questions.

    DON'T BEG FOR PICTURES - WON'T HAPPEN.

    OK.......

    Thanks, man. I appreciate it.

  5. Having experienced situations like this before, unless he has super nice cars, if the prices are figured for much more than $100 a ton (or whatever the going rate is in the area), they'll still be there in 30 days. Which, I suppose you could always point out in a nice way if a car seems like it's priced too high for what it is. Good luck -

If you need help loading them, give me a call / email. I bring my boy for some extra muscle. Love to save the old iron. As for myself, already to many projects, Momma would kill me if I got another, but who knows maybe something would catch my eye :)

I called and left a message. He said on his machine "he doesn't have long distance" so he requests you call in the evenings or early in the morning.

Why is it the "motivated" sellers of the shit that we are buyers for don't have computers, can't take pics, no set price, no phone or contact info or if they do own a phone the furthest they can call is farmer Zeke over yonder?

We all need telegraph machines next to our computers.:)

If "saving" the cars was the issue here, and the cars are "priced to sell" what is the problem? They should quickly disappear. However, I believe the "prices are firm" might just indicate a little reluctance to "save" in favor of making some extra bucks, don't you?
Does this guy realize that he needs to get on the horn and contact a crusher/shredder NOW? When a city exercises imminent domain all expense in executing the order are billed to the property owner who has to pay or a lien will be placed on the property which will be acrueing interest and penalties until paid. This can effectively ruin any possibility of him or his heirs selling the property in the future.

Here's some pics, folks. Have to pick up the kids from daycare - no time to post them individually here - you'll just have to follow the link.

Thank you Corncobcoupe for lettin this post remain on the HAMB!!!
I have talked to Steve personally and been to the yard, gonna be buying at least 2 cars from him and prices were fair. When I said firm I meant if he gives you a price take the car, he won't take less and will see that the car is crushed just to make the point! Cars are rough but seller is motivated, obviously, to sell and from what I have seen the parts are worth more then what he wants for the car. Higher then 100 a ton but its within a reasonable range.

My post count may not be high but I have been around cars all my life. I didn't post this to see a discussion on imminent domain or the fact that the owner isn't a Hamber or even up to speed with computers. All I want to do is spread the word that these cars are going bye bye, get what you can while you can cause soon they will all be gone! Yards with anything past the 80's are gettin fewer and fewer between!! Several have been crushed out in KC just in the last few years. When we get a chance to stockpile a few whats it really worth?

OKay, here they are. Now you don't have to follow the link... unless you want to view these in a bigger size. These pics are this size so it doesn't take this page a million years to load here. :)

First up, a Model A Cowl:

    Here's a 50s Saab - 3 Cylinders, 2-cycle, air-cooled:

Need a freakin' wheel? Steve's got a bunch... even more stuff at home, too.

I have a '41 International K-Series truck. All the K-Series share the same cab. Here's one of the '41 - '47-ish Ks that was a former fire truck... like a support vehicle. Nice utility bed, too. If I wasn't talking to OldCarMike about trading mine for an interior...

The tool drawers in the panels slide in and out.

    Complete '60 Hillman. It's not just a Minx... it's a SUPER Minx.

Here's yet another Saab... there's 3 out there!

    Another International K-Series cab:

    Another Saab from the rear:

Another Saab with a '58 Saab on top of it. These really would make awesome electric drag racers. You know, where folks put a freakin' huge forklift motor in 'em and go out to humiliate gassers?

    Peek-a-boo... I see you, Model A cowl!

    More wheels. Lots more.

There's a white Chevy Advanced Design pickup, and beyond the rears of a few '46-ish Chevy pickups. Beyond that, an orange plastic tarp that a '46 Chevy Panel Van has been under for 20 years:

A '58 Delray? No front floors, but the rest is solid. Rare because they were a one-year ultra-base model. Most of 'em were crushed years ago:

More of that Chevy Advanced Design truck with the Delray on the other side:

International Boom Truck - not for sale:

'62 Impala - supposed to be very nice. This is all I could see. It was in the corner of the lot, and to see the rest I'd have to have gone outside of the fence, and there was a 30 foot patch of weeds/ditch/etc on that other side. I may head down there soon to get another shot. This was all I could see. The orange tarp hides that '46 Chevy Panel Van:

    '46 Chevy Front:

More Chevy stuff, with that mysterious, tarped Panel Van...

Steve owns all this. He bought the '59 Chevy when he was a sophmore in high school. The '60 was a parts car that was too nice to part. Nothing in this picture is for sale... except maybe for 'ol Steve. I'll let you have him for a dolla. :)

Old Pontiac wagon next to a collapsed house full of parts:

'66 Cadillac ran when parked. May have a good motor. But there's spiders inside. FREAKED.MY.SHIT.RIGHT.OUT.

Another K-Series International. And a hood.

A look inside the collapsed house:

International K high-rise fenders (for big wheels):

    Criminitley, more wheels!

'59 Impala Sport Sedan. Holy crap, was it nice. 4-door. Flat top. Buy it. Do it now. Seriously, or you'll have to kick your own ass later.

Finally, damn... I had a good hair day. I'm off to pick up my twin 2-year-old girls from daycare. Yes, this IS a Sunfire convertible. And why yes, it IS still cute... even after I put those skull license plate screws on it. It's also probably the only black one with a white top (my doing) you'll ever see.

By the way, don't take camera phone pics while driving. Just an FYI. I can because it's an automatic (hey, it's got a shift kit - I can't afford the crossmember, 5-speed, clutch and computer right now, so shut up).

Enjoy the pics. Call Steve. Buy a car, seriously. These REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WILL BE CRUSHED IF NOT SOLD BY THE END OF AUGUST.

I live like a mile away or so. You can borrow my 16' car hauler if you have a truck and hitch. It's got a new 8,000 lb winch on it. Just don't be an A-hole with it and bring it back when you're done.

If you want to drop me a line or something, my PM box is getting full. I may be able to call 'ol Steve and ask him HAMB questions you guys have and post them as he tells me. At the prices these are going for, you can afford to flip a few for big bucks on eBay. Steve just has no cel or computer, and can't take advantage of that kind of stuff... yet.

And if you can't raise him by phone, ask me here. Like I said, I'll post answers to all.

What's he asking for these cars? You're not going to sell shit with that "it's reasonable for what the parts are worth" bullshit. Just tell us what he wants. I personally don't see anything out there worth paying more than maybe $300 for, if I gotta drag it out of the woods and take it in as-is condition.

Good to know he'd rather see it all crushed than let anyone negotiate the price with him too. I'm bettin' all that shit's gonna get crushed, I doubt more than two or three get "saved".

    Good point!

You know, I had actually had a similar thought today, but hadn't had the time yet to call him and ask for a list of prices. That would probably help his case a lot.

I'll see about getting on this this weekend - thanks for the reminder!

Maybe if I can get a few sold for him he'll toss that '59 Chevy my way. :)

    Jason,
You know I'm trying to work with you on this - but I've asked you guys to call the number to get info.

If the seller won't take calls - then Jason you need to post your phone number and take care of this.

You pleaded with me to let this stay posted and I did what I thought could help but.......

You've made your point about this getting crushed but until this gets more specific than it is a fishing expedition that frankly is taking up bandwidth.

Get the vehicles and prices so no more fishing questions get posted.

And frankly - if your thought is to buy them and flip them on Ebay then flip money Ryan's way to pay for the bandwidth being used.
If it's to save TIN - fine, if it's to flip and make some bux then send the Money Ryan's way.
After ALL this is free and Ebay charges - so what seems right to you ?

I've helped you - now please respect the requests.

No other comments - call Jason if he posts his number or the number posted.

    Thanks and Good Luck,
    Cob

That is actually an excellent idea.

I'll take at least 10% of the take and send it Ryan's way. He deserves more, and if I can get Steve to agree to more, I'll see that he gets more. No problem.

I'd be more than happy to take emails (it's in my profile) and act in a liason capacity with Steve, the owner, until I can get Steve's prices edited into the pictures post. After that, it's self-explanatory and runs it's own show.

Sorry about the exuberance... I kinda got caught up in the moment. I just hate to see 'em crushed.

I had no idea that the seller wasn't taking calls. But like I said, email me, and I'll call him and send back the answer post-haste.

    ~Jason
