Denise, we'll be looking for you and as salt virgins we'll be needing some guidance as to "what to do while at the salt." No doubt you can help us with that!

I'll end with a frvant prayer that the salt is rid of the standing water and in condition for some flat out hauling *** racing. I have had airline tickets in my hot little hand three times in the past and was rained out on each occ***ion. Please Lord, not this year!!!

  2. pray for dry salt and stay positive thats what we need 2 do.

I think you'd be better off coming this way. Swing by the shop for a few hours of intense back breaking, sweat dripping down the crack of your ***, HARD LABOR, to help me get Lil Zilla ready for September salt. Sound like fun? I'll be serving FREE water (warm tap stuff, but we can share a lemon I found). Only $5 a day (per car) for parking and you guys can even spend the night here ($ 100 for the six of you - that's cheap, mister!)...Oh allright - no charge for parking or room and board, but you guys are gonna work like dogs!

I'll be at the Meet& Greet, in spirit...

I will also have my little rv on the salt, if you still need a place to shoot pics from.

Larry Volk gave a salt report. 14 inches of water off the end of the access road and it was raining out there today. Mike Waters is to come up Saturday and make the call.

I will stop by your pits at some point and say "hi" whether you guys make it to the meet and greet or not.

Steve, if for some sad reason Speed Week is cancelled, our little group would probably make it to Denver for a nite and come vist you.

Looking at the weather forcast, it should be hot and dry from now until Speedweek. The water goes away really fast on the salt. I believe compleatly that there will be a Speedweek meet. Keep a good thought.

    This off the landracing site.

I just got off the phone with Mike Waters, 10:30 am. Larry Volk has not been on the salt since Monday and gave his report to Mike at that time. Dallas Volk said that rumor of 14" of water did not come from Larry at the meeting last night. Lets stop the rumors and wait for the official report on Saturday afternoon when Mike, Larry and others are on the salt.

With all the money the hotels stand to lose with a cancellation of Speed Week you would think they would have all their employees out there with giant sponges and squeegees soaken up the track for us. :D

just got back from the sdrc meeting and yes the 14" is bs, it sounds like there is somewhere around 6" at roads end and around 2" where the courses will be so things are looking pretty good right now but i guess we'll know for sure if it's a go by sunday.

on a side note the hotels loose money everyspeed week, compared to a normal weekend. the big thing for next year is possibly starting speedweek on tuesday and running it through the following monday since over 50% of the cars and people are gone within the first couple of days that would free up a ton of extra hotel rooms for the regular gambling crowd on the weekend and there would be plenty of rooms avaliableduring the weekdays for the racers. it actually makes alot of sence to do it this way and hotel room $ might even go down.

Yeah, that 14" ****, I'd like to kill who ever posted that. I canceled my trip because of it. Been bummed ever since. Lost my room and already turned my time off back in. It was too much of a gamble for me. I you guys find who said 14"s drag him around a bit on the salt for me! You guys have fun, see some of you at the drags. Later, Rusty.

Plan "B" it is:( . I'll be in a dark red nissan crew cab with 3 vintage bicycles in the back...that's 1 extra if anyone needs a ride.

With the change to the course layout. I'm not sure how the spectator area at the end of the pits will work. Its past the end of the short co**** and at the slow down section of the long co****.

Oh well, I'm sure we'll all find each other.
