I took a look at this older fellows 30 Ford today, garaged since 1982. It's a 1966 original custom that he bought from a hot-rodder, and wanted to take it back to stock. He's already switched back the 32 grille on it (which he still has) and a couple minor things. Other than that, it's the same as it was in 66, and no, he doesn't want to sell. (yet)
Now that's a weird grill! I've seen regular stainless A grills for 30 and 31 in stainless, but they have the top widow's peak. I've seen steel grills for trucks with and without the widow's peak. But I've NEVER seen a stainless grill with no widow's peak. What is that from?
It looks like a regular 1930 Ford Model A grille shell in the pics. The '30 was smooth at the top and had the black painted area at trhe bottom around the crank hole. the '31 grille shell had the area at the top that was painted body color. Take another look. A stock 30 grille was smooth on the front surface, but had a small point (widow's peak) below the emblem. This one does not. I guess this is just like a stock pickup grille that has been chromed. I just thought it was stainless, which I believe would be VERY rare.

Man, what a barn find! On another note, i met one my neighborhs a while back and found out he has a one owner original Model A tudor sedan, fully original. and to top it all off, its in fantastic shape.
