Well... yet again it's been awhile since i posted. last time i think i just had the 35 cab motor and grill on the truck. Now she's on the road. A little bit at least. Still tending to some small issuse. She started out 2 years ago. I brought home a 40 ford cab and planned on collecting parts to build a truck. By christmas of 05 i had enough parts to do some thing with but what? I've never done this before and where to even start! luckily i had some help from an Ol' Boy. Some one thats been around the block way more times than i'll ever dream about. the only problem i live in ohio and he was in the state of washington. It was worth a shot, right?! So just by email, pics, and phone i had all the help i needed. so here's the truck the 40 cab turned into a 35 ford cab chopped 6 and channelled 3, 36 ford truck grill, 34 ford frame, 48 dodge bed shortend 2 feet, 5 inches taken out of the width and 4 inches off the bottom. 70 dodge small block motor 318 and 727 ******, G.M. 10-bolt rear, 4 inch drop axle, 1 inch drop crossmember and a reverse eye spring, 34 split bones, 34 ford steering box, lokar 32 inch shifter (about 3 inches from the roof!) ummm... i think thats about all the important stuff. any thing you wanna know, just ask. Oh yeah, before any one says some thing, i'm BROKE SO THE RADIALS WILL HAVE TO DO FOR NOW!!!! LOL!! i hope the link works for any one that cares. It a nice little SMOKEY burn out just to test the waters a little since this was the second time on the road and around the block. for some reason i have no pics of her where she is today. only the video. the pics are about a month old, sorry. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fIcrcWMMf7A
This project was nick named "LiL Sherman" based on the type of material that was being used when the 40 Cab was on the Ch***is. This guy not only had never built a Hot Rod but also never owned one either, He just had a picture in his mind and went for it. That takes a lot of Stones. All the heavy Iron went with the other Cab and by rights so should have the name. Now it's done and the Tailegate is the only identifying marker on it. Most won't catch it but I'm going to continue calling it "LiL Sherman" not "LiL DOGE" I just like the sound of it better. Hay,, How did I know all that? The Wizzard
Nice little BURNOUT! Didn't even sound like you made it work, although I can't say I blame you since you just barely got it on the road. Nice job for your first rod. I'm working on my first non traditional hot rod right now. And, possibly getting ready to do a 52 Chevy for a potential customer.
That's a dream come true, first rod, yippee! BTW I like the radials, they give a little bit of a mean look, a kind of I know that you know they shouldn't be there, but you know that I know I don't give a ****!!
Love it, I think you nailed the pitch of that grill shell it just looks right... great stance, congrats on getting it on the road...
Congratulations, refreshing to see a hot rod truck that still has a box. Was that burnout done at high idle?
Congrats man. It's gotta be a good feeling to fire it up, and smoke it up. Major cuddo's..........job well done.
Good Job!! Yor truck has a nice stance to it while driving. Nice burnout for not dropping that lead foot. Motor wasn't even straining. Next time wet the road down and spray some bleach!!!!
kool truck i just finished this one a couple weeks ago and have been out enjoying the hell out of it since . nut and bolt it a few times and carry some tools cause no matter how well you built it you'll need to fix a couple things . maybe i'll see ya around were both in the north east . jp www.myspace.com/luckysspeednkustom
burn out was done in first gear. not sure if it was before or after we screwed with the carb and made some adjustments.
