Day eight of the modified series,

today I pulled the 259 and 3 speed OD out of the Stude and got it hanging in it's new home.

gotta get more steel for mounts and stuff,,

not much of a tech report here, more like an update.

here's the motor warmin' up for the last time in the Lark..

    which left a vacant space..

    thanks Ed,

I was thinking of going back and saving the whole series,

eventually I'd like to show the whole build from scrap to car in one post.

The T-86 are side loaders and T-85 Are top loaders. I think thats right on the numbers all I know is that the side loader 3spd OD are stronger than the toploader 3 spd OD. Hope that helps. Thats right on Fords anyway...but I think all the borg-warners are the same just different output and input shafts...there also are a lot of different reverse clusters. I love 3 sp OD... [IMG]

it's a top loader and has a T-86 cast on the passenger side.

does the T-85 all bolt up the same, bell housing and mounts, 'case I wanna swap out later?

I had a toploader (T-86) behind my 312 y block and switched to a sideloader (T-85) with no modification. Hope this helps. You get the OD working you'll be the envy of all your friends.

That's so cool, I can totally dig it.
I love the Lark wagon too, she's crying for some big inch motor, I dig the slotties on it too.
Say Paul, is the Lark a unibody?
    My ex had a '63 Lark 4 door but I can't remember.

    Hi Nads,
no, not a unibody, it has a regular ol' frame under it. the built up style with the hat shaped rail with the added flat bottom.. [IMG]
