    Hey gang,

Picked up an intake for the Y-block finally...the engine's going in a '34 pickup. I plan on 3 '94's, port-matched heads...nothing too exotic. The seller of the intake also has an Isky 301333 cam new in the box so I've been looking into the specs on the website.

Just wondeirng if anyone has any experience with this particular setup. This'll be my first engine mod/mild overhaul and I'm definitely open to suggestions. I'm looking to warm up performance off the line through mid range and get a decent rumpity rump out of the idle.

I'm also wondering about actual cam setup, degreeing, etc., but I know it's a big category. Really just throwing this out there to start some good discussion. Thanks for the time and help.

  2. Need to know a little more about the engine size, vintage, head casting numbers, transmission, & rear axle gearing. :)

Hmmm...yeah, sorry...left out some important details there.

The engine is a 292, approx. '57 vintage, unsure of the head castings and I'm at work on a tugboat for two weeks, so that'll take a bit to get the info.

Transmission will be a T-5 out of a 91 Mustang, switch to an S-10 tailshaft housing...don't know the ratios off hand. Rearend gears are currently 3.50's, but I haven't run all my calcs to determine exactly what I want back there yet.

Does this give any better insight? Thanks for the reply...
