chevy numbers

To all you number gurus;
I need some help decephering this chevy block. The only numbers I can come up with (cause my close vision really ****s) is on the p***enger side of the block. numbers read as follows 18W327104 and VO5O1DE any help would be greatly apprieciated.

I think that' s a 283 ??? I'll Ck tonight.

 

I checked the suffix letter's on another web site and came up with these possibilities.

I know you said you have a hard time seeing the number's, but can you get to the rear driver's side of the block for the casting number?

the casting #s behind the drivers side head are big , about 5/8`s inch tall

 

heres a pic so you know what to look for

 

the 18W....... number means it is a Chevy from the 1968 model year
and I have a book that lists the DE code as a 67 chevelle 283 as well as a 68 chevelle 307.

There should be another casting number on the back of the block that will tell you when it was made, a letter and two to 4 numbers, last digit would be the year. it will look like D 22 8 or something,
