    Kirk,

The little car looks good. Maybe you'll get time this winter to get it running.

Is that a fuel gauge on the tank?

    Lovley setup with those Webers.

You can´t get more out of a 6 than with those.
(if you don´t talk blowers or Fish carbs)

Also a great Idea with that tank gauge.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up. It's just sitting on the studs right now. I haven't actually bolted it down yet. I'll make sure I pay close attention when I do.

  5. Haha....nothing like cutting rare **** up.:D

  6. Hey KIRK, where might a man find some pics of your rear suspension setup? I'm still sorting mine out and they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Yeah. Most people will have no idea what it is, but I'm sure some Grant Six guy will see it and have a heart attack.

You may have posted this before but what's the story on the Weber set-up. Who and from where on the manifolds, what size/type carbs, are they already choked and jetted for your application or do you have that to do yet? If they are already set-up who did the work? They can be a ***** for the uneducated but when they are right, watch out.  :D

They are 40 DCOEs. The whole ***embly is from Pierce Manifolds in Gilroy, CA. My friend who works there, Stephen, set it up and dialed it in to my motor. Everything is ready to go, linkage and all.

    Check them out at http://hotrodwebers.com/

Beautiful! I like that engine setup especially with those Webers. I also like the front suspension with those shock you've got there.

I just wanted something slightly off-center from the norm, but still very much in the traditional hot rod vein. The underlying approach has been sort of that of a soldier who came back from WWII and was inspired by cars that he saw in Europe. I want a little bit of a European road race car mixed with American dry-lakes hot rod. I've shot inspiration shots of Austin Healeys, MGs and American hot rods. I think I'm getting to where I want to be with it. I have a lot of oddball vintage accessories for it that you'll see soon.

The six is a Chevy 194 Thrift Master. A guy in Bakersfield built it for me. He's an old straight six drag racer who worked his magic on the mill. It's ported, polished, balanced and blueprinted. When I heard it on the run-in stand it sounded like an airplane. I can't wait to hear it again. Especially with that long exhaust.

This car will be all about freeway cruising and top-end speed, not light to light. Math says she'll do 139.4mph @ 4000rpm. Pushing to 4500rpm gets me to 156.8mph. FUN!

Did you know that your drive shaft fell out and your gas tank seems to be missing its hardware? I think it fell off too. Luckily your not far from home. I am looking for a Haynes body to do a traditional off center rod. If you run across any of those give me a jingle. I hate you!

  20. Kirk, what open drive conversion did you use for your rear end?

The one from Speedway. It was super simple, high quality, and seems like it will work great.
