I am considering shaving the door handles on my 55 f-100 and was wondering if anyone could reccomend some decent quality door poppers and any hints/ideas on how to go about installation. I am not interested in doing the key FOB remotes, just simple ****ons hidden somewhere on the truck

Wow, I had very good luck with AutoLoc stuff when it's set-up correctly.

On my 55 Chevy in 1958/59 I was using one coil (I think it was just one) cut from a valve spring and attached to the door jamb. It kicked the door open just fine when the starter solonoid door opened the door latch. The ****on was a chrome starter ****on placed in the side chrome. It wasn't invisible but not noticible. I also had an electric toggle switch hidden in the grille to shut the power off to the doors.

Why not do fob remotes? Do you want a non-electric system, or is electric without fobs ok?

Kikin rods has good stuff. And he's an Alliance vendor.
I too have had good luck with autoloc.
Used some on my 55 F-100
used the bear claw latches in the body, and the pins in the door.
Keeps from having to run wires in the doors and you won't need poppers. Just the bear claws.

thanks for the info, I'll check out the websites and such.

I want to keep it as simple as possible, keeping the stock latches and locking mechanisms while hiding the ****ons on the back of the cab where the body plugs cover the holes for the rear cab mount bolts

I wonder if it would be possible to mount a plunger in the door that would actuate the stock door handle lever.

    I triple agree.

Both my doors died, since they're in town, I went over there to ask for some help. Guy told me he couldn't help me because I had an older system....BUT, if I bought a new one he could help me.

Autoloc is why cars have wing windows.
