hi i am just starting my model a 5 window build and want to hear how much **** i am going to get running a car fenderless in NJ.
I have not gotten any **** yet...been up the Parkway, to the Oranges, and around my home town, here in the South...I am sure I would not p*** inspection, but...QQ's will cure that, or the "voucher" triangle sticker I have been hearing about, for regular tagged, low mileage/use vehicles. Evidently they en***le you to a much more lenient inspection. all depends how you drive, and how nice you are when you/ if you do get pulled over!
Of course...it IS New Jersey. so...I am still waiting for some myself... In my hometown, though...they are usually more amused by it then anything else...
My Deuce Highboy Coupe has been on the road since 2002 and cops never bother me.......of course, I don't drive it like an idiot either.....my pipes are kinda loud but I do have little 9" gl***packs on it........I don't *peel out* and I don't speed going through towns...... I am fully insured as a *modified car*, and I run a *Historic license plate* so I don't have to be inspected...... Do it and don't worry about it.......but to get Historic tags you'll have to submit pics to the State MVC with it looking like a stocker.....make sure there's fenders for the pics........although there's always Photoshop ;^) Brucie
im not from NJ...but we have the same **** here. it only takes one cop to pull you over and give you ****. so now i'm contemplating ways to drive to my g/fs house without being seen since that one cop found ME haha. stupid dillsburg...
I ride this around - never had any trouble, but I always worry about some cop with a hair across his ***.
In five years of drivin my 29 around I had zero problems...But in order to get QQ's I had to send in a picture of a bone stock Model A...When I originaly sent in pictures of my car they told me I had to get street rod plates....**** that...So at spring carlisle I took a few pics of a bone stock Model A, and submitted those, no problems.
try to stick tempoaray fenders on then get it inspected, once ya get the sticker pull them off.Usually if a cop see the inspection stamp they won't **** with ya JimV
It use to be that way over here in pA but now you can go fenderless. Before they changed the law I had a few cars that were fenderless and never got stopped for that. One night I went through a speed trap and got pulled over. All the cop did was ask me qustions about the car and and left without giving me a ticket. He did said keep the speed down because you do not want to wreck this nice car. I did get a tecket this year for not have a front fender on my Chopper. The person almost hit me and hit another car and I stopped to make sure everone was Ok. The cop gave me a ticket.
When i was seveteen I was messing around in the roadster and a NJ officer pulled me over.....he asked where the fenders were and I politley told him that fenders were optional in 1932. He kinda just looked at me with his head ****ed sideways and said take it easy out there, he was cool. As for fenders I have been driving fenderless cars to work all summer at least 4 days out of the week....no problems and hope not to have any. Jersey cops are pretty cool with the cars as far as I'm concerned.
