Well, there seems to be alot of interest in getting some shop space in the SoCal area. I know about 3 people for sure who would go in on a space, so I've started the search. Who really wants in? Please respond with how much you want to go in for each month what your prefered location is and what you can contibute "tool-wise". I'll start it off I'm in for $200 a month. I'm in Long Beach. Here's what I got to contribute: - MIG welder- Millermatic 250 - Oxy Acetelene setup with cutting torch - Drill Press - Smithy Lathe - Hand tools- grinders, aws etc. PM me or EMail me with your Email and contact info and we can get this thing started.
It IS cheaper in the IE, but the smell from the next door meth lab is pretty daunting. Not to mention the potential for explosions. ;-)

im down to get a place too. actually id love to have a business out of there. chopping tops in a weekend, frenching lights, nosing decking, sectioning, rust repair, dent repair, any kind of cars, no building hotrods, just customs out of pre existing cars. i was doing this out of my garage for the past few years. anyway, if i cant find a shop willing to hire me on im gonna have to do this out of need more then want. i got a gas mig, arc, and oxy acet setup. ban saw and all the tools we need. im serious, keep in touch. i know my rep on this board isnt great but thats because i **** at shipping and i get hot headed via internet sometimes esp when people push my bottons for 6 pages long of posts....
oh i should prolly mention that i wanna move someplace near LA, southern cali, doesnt really need to be area specific but i want to be near the "goings on", shows bars ect. i also need to find a place to live if anyone knows a place.

i'm up for it here in san diego. i need a space to do welding and ***embly, some painting and general hot rod / custom stuff. i can pony up $500 and if there is enough extra space to store stuff i can get another $700 on top of that. i have a load of tools press break, slip roll, ring roller, plasma, miller210, gas welding, drill press band saw, cutoff saw, planishing hammer, stompshear, etc, etc... neads to ber near downtown not too far east south or north. if some guys are responcible this would be a good thing for all involved.
ok you beat me to it on the shop post! but im in for at least 300 a month. just swung by this afternoon and got the number for a big shop space in the whittier area. This place was an old 76 station that shut down about 2 years ago, it is now for lease. im not sure about the sq footage on the space but I can say its fairly large and can accomadate several cars and work space. it there is enouogh intrest tis may be a nice space for work and storage. either way im very interested in space! im going to call tomorrow and see what the sq footage is and cost.

wow. ok.... UNION- i did move to cali, i was staying in north hollywood with a friend. but my grandmothers health was failing and i had to come back to chicago to finish my hotrod (for the guy i sold it to). she has since p***ed, and the car is almost to the point it needs to be for him to take it. i was hard on my luck any money and well being for a while. i know i make mistakes, but you guys give me nothing but negativity. i tried to show you progress on my car when it wasnt done- and you just told me it was ugly and a pile of ****. i even told you i was gonna stop posting, but i decided to post again because i thought everyone cooled off. id really like to meet you all in person, i really would. just so you could see im not totally what you think i am. anyway, kinda bummed out about this. sorry for offering.

Draggin ***, you've made an *** of yourself here enough that even the boss has noticed. It might be best for you to let things cool off more than a few weeks and get out there and unprove and reprove yourself because your name is mud. They may have dropped the post but there was one on here not that long ago about problems directly with you and it was a multi page post. Oh, and you might want to change your sig line before someone takes you up on the offer! To be honest, I thought you got banned. For the rest of the guys, good luck. Sounds like fun. I'm too far away but man I'd love to hang out at a shop like that and learn a thing or two and work on my car. It'd be worth the price of entry.
