Hi guys I went and looked at an A coupe body down here and the guy thinks its made from gold but it has certainly got me thinking I want one. :) That and some of the outdstanding builds on this site. Just wondering (out load again  ) how much a good coupe body would cost me out in Cali or similar.
    Thanks
    Pete

I'm not out in cali, but theres a guy in Chatanooga tennessee that has an A that is running, but far from restored and he wants 4500 for it. I didn't think that was a bad price being that it was all orignal and all there. I don't know if that will help you any, but maybe

$3,000 on eBay with no bids ...

$4,800 as of now ( Buy it now option for $7,500 )

Ford made over 4 million Model A's ... so they are not real hard to come by ... even 75 plus years later.

I do NOT know how difficult they are to find in your country.
I have found that it is better to try and buy a pretty decent car and start with it than trying to piece together 14 piles of junk into one car.

    :)

I paid $2500.00 for mine. I thought it was a bit high but I have always wanted one and this is the only one I have come across in years and years.

  8. I agree with Deuce Roadster. Buy the best car you can. If you can't afford a good one right now, consider saving another month/year/etc...

Any way you go, this build will cost a fair amount of $$ & will consume an equal amount of time. You don't want to have all that invested in a cobbled together POS.

A's aren't getting any cheaper. Ryan, Rolf, Kennedy & a handful of others here are making sure of that.

A local dealer turns over A coupe bodies at around $4,500, these are good solid ones.

I agree with all that posted about starting with the best body possible, especially considering my fab skills or lack there of. :) Will start the hunt.

Just wondering where on eBay I find those listed above? Just looked at 1600+ ads in the parts section under Model A :)

    :D :D

I do a search in the eBay Motors ... under Cars and Trucks and select 1931 Ford ... then 1930 Ford and so on ...

    This search may work ...

I just bought a barn find all original 30 coupe. it's about 99% complete with a clear ohio title for 5 grand. Really solid car. I did not think that was too bad for a nice, solid car.

I once heard it said " You can't pay too much but you can buy too early". Quite a few years ago a friend and I passed up some stuff, free for carrying it off. A few years later we found it again and paid money for it.

I gave $6500 for my 29 coupe. Good running amatuer restoration with nice paint, trim, rumble seat, interior AND title. I couldn't get the body and interior together that cheaply from pieces for an AV8 highboy.

Thanks guys will continue to look for a really straight body requiring only a little work. Perhaps the one after that will be one Id take on more body work with, appreciate the posts.
