Nothing personal to the guy who did the work on this but he was telling me about his work and how hes going to be helping out build cars for some of the guys in a well known car club. But if you look at the picture of this step notch nothing is boxed or even straight. I sure wouldnt want this guy building anyone a car that is going to fall apart on the freeway and hurt someone!

Look at the part he welded onto the frame is just bent up by a hammer where he didnt cut it all the way or something. He told me he cut the peices out using about 50 grinding discs.

Wow, can I get his number, maybe he can build me a chassis cheap. That looks great, no gussets, no plating, just a...something on the bottom with a...something bent up. Nice piece of work. I hope it's not supporting anything like the car.

  12. Yeah, it's perfectly safe. As long as the car is only going to sit on display in front of a retro McDonalds. With a couple jackstands under it.

what the hell does he think he need a 18" notch for? ain't no tire gonna tuck the axle up that high unless he cuts hole in his quarter panels for the tires to stick up through.

It ain't just him out on that highway, and I'll bet your tune would change if he killed or injured someone you cared about. And if he does, his reckless behavior could effect all of us.
A persons craftsmanship speaks volumes about that person, what does shitty work like that say about him?

Where's this ass hat from so I can avoid that particular state....

  24. Safe, safe at second base! But he will never make it to home base.

  25. Well,if you welded like that as a "Shipfitter",you would sink!!! FNG's that just post smartass comments, don't usually last very long here.Unsafe crap might be OK in your eyes, but rodding in general gets a bad rap if unsafe building kills or injures anyone. If you can't contribute anything worthwhile maybe you should just read and learn for a while.Try engaging your brain, before engaging your mouth!!!

UUUHHHHHHHHH>>>>>>>>>>>= WHY?! Jeez, the car only has 15's, why not just do some research and do it right the first time? I know I'm scared to death doing my frame right now, that's why I'm taking my time with research, lots of measurements and prep, right now it's cut and stepped but figuring out how much to overlap for weld area and the safest way to box and gusset it before I go back together with it. I know I don't want to die or kill someone else because I got in a hurry or did something wrong.
