Not sure I understand you correctly. but are you talking about getting an adapter to bolt onto your other adapter? If so then I'd ask why not toss the 2x4 to 6-71 adapter and simply replace it with the 6x2to 6-71 adapter.

I guess thats just how little I know.. I thought the blower top came set up for 2-4's.. so I can go straight for the 6-2's?... what I wanted to know was how it would run and linkage issues and anything else I might run into..

Like this? Savage on the board here sells a nifty 6 x 2 6-71 top

there are most certainly linkage issues :) - I haven't gotten mine all sorted out yet. I am running the outer carbs without idle cicuits as venturis only.

Obrian Truckers may also have a multi carb top for sale. He is on the board too.

Depends on the motor you are putting the blower on. You need to check out the Blower drive service website. They have a good FAQ section that will walk you through setting up an engine for a supercharger. They have charts to guide you on setting up the engine's compression ratio to work with how you are planing to drive the blower.

shop around for a blower, see if you can find one that's a genuine old GMC unit....I'm thinking BDS is mostly making their own cases now, they don't look quite right under a bunch of 2bbls.

Most of the diesel ones, you'll have to do some conversion to. They're cheaper and more common............as long as you know where to look.:p

There's a LOT of tech on them on the hamb. If my brain wasn't numb I'd post it up for you.

You're gonna have to underdrive it or that hulking 6-71 on a little 327 is gonna make HUGE boost numbers. Too huge for pump gas.

You do have blower pistons and static compression under 8:1, right?

The guy who set up my blower lives in your home state.

He did a great job and is a fountian of tech information.

    Rick Dean

He did my blower for like 800 bucks. I didn't have to send a core or anything. I just sent him a check and a week later, a big *****in blower showed up on my porch. Ready to go.

Also, your basic street blown small block Chevvie making 6 to 8 lbs of boost is going to make some serious power.

Build your short block accordingly. If you just want a blower and never run it hard, you can get away with a pretty damn stock engine.

BUT- If you plan on making a dragstrip p*** or two, or run it hard on th estreet, you are gonna need some good parts.

Buy some GOOD forged pistons, there are over teh counter Chevvie blower pistons everywhere. And, if you are going to rev it over 5500, get some good rods and blots and 4 bolt main caps are nessessary too.

Buy a BDS catalog. They have all teh charts you need to figure out boost and pulley sizes and they have a bunch of pages on general tech for the street.

I got WAY more info out of BDS catalog than the whole Pat Ganahl blower book. (sorry, Pat.)

If you need any help, gimme a holler. I learned lots of stuff doing mine, most of it the hard way.

Tudor. Yes, Rick hooked me up with the drive, pulleys and belt. The guy I talked to a BDS was a douche, so I just called Rick.

Do you have a bigger pic of the set up at teh bottom of your signature??

Here is the 4-71 with 4 2's - Hampton did the work on this one. He polished it which I didn't ask for, but it turned out looking pretty nice. My buddy gave me the 4-71 from his diesel parts yard.

I think I have talked with that same douche @ BDS. I called up there doing a little blower cam research and the tech line fella wasn't cool at all.

Flamedabone is right - Rick Dean is very helpfull and has good prices. I sent my 6-71 to him and he converted it and sent it back.

call him if you want to talk to him - he doesn't do email. Waring though - he had my 4-71 for over a year and a half. He was real busy doing the 10-71s for the racers and didn't want to stop for my little job I guess. I called him about every 6 weeks to chat with him and get filled up with BS as to when he was going to finish mine.

well - what about the ****ing carrots?

Hey Josh......your setup looks ****ing nasty! I gotta ask though.
How well does a lung breath through those little carbs? Can you get 200 cfm out of a 97?

Oh...........& you are bringing that to that to the drags right?
Cause I think you owe me a ride.

    Keep up the good work.

I think 97's are more like 150 cfm.

Yeah, I was thinking they flow 125 or so. Wasn't sure how far they can be opened up.
They look so good though. Very nice.

Yes - 4 or 780 cfm may not be enough. It is only a 283. The guy I got the top from ran them on a 471 on top of a 350. He said it ran way better with 2 4 barrels. Like dropped him 2 seconds in the quarter. I do have a 2 - 4 barrel top and a couple good AFB's for the strip. I figured the 97's would be good for around town.

I **** because the car won't be ready this year and I will be riding in the truck with Hog Mtn Dave. Next year for sure. Looking forward to seeing you and Laura. Take it easy bro.
