Here is a car that I crewed on and sometimes drove in Australia in the early 70's. We ran D/D which was a cl*** for pre '63 six cylinder, flathead or straight 8 powered cars. This one had an English Ford Zephyr motor with a four speed Hillman gearbox (using 2nd, 3rd and top gears only.
Others in the cl*** ran flathead Ford V8, Blue Flame Chevy 6, slant six Mopar, Jaguar DOHC six and even a straight eight Buick for power. The cars ran in the mid to high 11's to start and towards the end of the cl*** were into the high 10's. Lots of fun and not a whole lot of money as we built nearly everything ourselves from frames to headers and intake manifolds.

Yes i do. Make sure you have your camera with you for detail pics you'll want to take. We'll pull the panels off and let you look at her naked.

Roothawg - that last pic looks like the "Surfer's" car - is it? Interesting shot either way, you can see the driver leaning to one side, I am guessing to "see" where he's going?

I never noticed that the surfers car had a leaf spring front end.

  26. Doesn't look like that single moon tank would hold enough fuel to run all that!

there was speculation that the photo was photo-choped because the shadows under the enginge aren't the same as under the tank and the rear engine..lol

I think simpson or someone makes them. My friend Jeff has one ( baby blue blown injected chevy II straight axle). I think he found it on e Bay by a dealer. I have looked at it. It is alot nicer than my orginal Deist one. Or did you mean one with out breathers?
