Post time slips you liars!! haha. Good idea on this thread. We should classify into FEDs, Rods, Altereds, Gassers, and Kustoms. Maybe make a spot on the board for it with official slips.

  3. I carry mine in my wallet, so it's not in the best of shape. But I can snap a pic. It's not nearly the fastest on the board, but I hope to improve on it later this year. And I was in a tube chassis Vega wagon when I made my quickest pass.

  4. same place in houston, 12.45 @ 120 mph, spinning all the way through 3rd:D

John Shoemaker who is on here from time to time has been 5.96 at 253 in our front engine topfueler, the American Eagle. We ran that at the Hotrod Reunion last year.

    HERE!

Best ET was 9.72, best MPH was 134.

Looks like I will be running at the CHRR in October. Cant wait.:)

  8. 8.01 back in 1992, I wish I could post the time slip but car, slip and everything else I owned back then got destroyed in a bush fire.
Car was a 32 3 window, street registered but not run in street legal guise. I guess it would be considered a Pro Street car, not traditional does it count??

That was Gold Dust......my father use to run it up and down the dirt road messing around with it in the 70's before he sold it to Steve. I know it had a 4 1/2 crank in it. I remember it sitting in the upstairs of the barn till I was about 12 years old

Quickest to date is 9.45, 139. Not the fastest by a long shot, but it's fun.

    For the record;

Fast=Your top speed (unless you're slow, then you're not fast, confused?)

Quick=How long it takes to get to your top speed (unless you're slow, then you're not quick, REALLY confused?!)

  13. Oh yeah, I can hardly wait, too!

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Dude! People always look at me funny when I try to tell them that.

Your NHRA dragster might be the quickest motorsport on earth, but the Reno Unlimited Air Racers are the fastest at 450+ mph.

(I know some one will say that they have gone faster on the lakes, but I'm talking about racing head to head, not racing the clock.:D )

  15. So you'll split hairs in one case, and ignore them in the other [funny look smiley]. Maybe we should clarify by: who is the highest acceleration HAMBer, and who is the highest velocity HAMBer (land-based, of course)?

I think y'all are splitting hairs on the definition of quick/fast.

He did ask "in the 1/4 mile", so drags is presumed, and most drag cars are geared for acceleration, not top speed...

...now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to drive my Dodge Charger 175mph home from work (hee hee).

  17. If we take the 1/4 mile out Id have to be close to the fastest on the board, been better than Mach 1 in a RNZAF T/F-4 Skyhawk. Sadly I attended the crash of the same aircraft and pilot some months latter.

There was a guy on her named The Joker a few years back. I imagine he's on here by another name now. Anyhow, he runs 4.70's at 320+ just about every weekend. Not super traditional, but damn straight a hot rod!

I'm not sure where it went after Steve C sold it, I use to sit in that thing in a firesuit as a little kid pretending to run the longest 1/4 mile in the world, I was so excited the day my father and friends put it to life and ran it up and down the road for half the day taking turns, it originally came from a club in Belvidere NJ called the Dusters.

I am pretty sure that digger was originally Mr. Helger's and his son bought it back a few years ago. At least that's what I remember reading in Magneto magazine.

Either way, it's awesome! And that's cool you got to sit in it when you were a kid.
