Don't know about drums but i used an 87 sub front sus to get 5 bolt rotors with booster, works well.

  7. i picked this up last thursday. 60 apache big window. gm crate 350 with 24k on it. vintage air a/c, ron francis harness, unfortunately has a dakota digital dash in it, but i have plans for that! gennie shifter, too.... has been stubbed with a 72 truck front end with discs and power steering. rear was grafted in as well. ( not sure why they didn't drop it any?) i bought it to sell, but i kinda like it. i'm gonna find a short bed and shorten it up. bring it down a bit and find some torq thrusts ( please pm me if ya have some!!)
probably swap the hood, or go hoodless. anyway.........

    Great looking trucks

  10. Nice score Matt, looks like that could be a daily.

I meant to ask you at HSC, hows the project coming?

  11. it's been on hiatus for quite a bit. that said, the frame is finally done!! well, it's welded up at least. steering is done. cab is channeled and the "bed" is ready to be mounted. slow going, but that's where the fun is!

the truck will be a daily, but i'd like to find a short bed for it. it runs great and has a/c to boot!

Swap the hood with what? That hood is what sets the 60-61 apart. Don't swap the hood! Swap the cheesy bucket seats and steering wheel yes, but leave the hood. In fact, leave it a long fleet too!

NegativeMatt i am with Mugsy i am kinda digging the hood. Different from the rest but that is what makes it unique.

  15. i just can't stand the hood. it has to go!! it's already got a 62 grille, so i'll get a hood to match. i really got this with the intent of fixing it up and reselling, and short beds sell better. the cheesy seats and wheel will stay. i'll recover the seats and put in new carpet. now i just gotta find a windshield!!

if i was to keep it, i'd probably leave it as is. it would make a bitchin push truck, all lettered up. safety safari!!!

  16. I like those hoods! I'll trade ya!

Keep the hood! Swap the grille and the gauges. It's funny, my 62 has a 60 grille. I really love the 4 headlight grilles, but I'll be swapping mine soon and going back to the original 62 grille... I'll be selling mine soon...Here's a pic...

Shaun got a shot bed frame and bagged it, then just pulled everything from the long bed frame to the new short frame.
we looked for about 5 mins. for a short bed that was in good shape then just said F it, and cut the long bed down, its a very nice bed, no dents or rust and it had a camper on it most of its life so the inner panels were good too.
we took out 12" in front and 8" behind the wheel.

this thread is like saying ...hey can you photoshop a diffrent color and wheels on a 60 -66 chevy/gmc truck .

two trucks out 13 pages that looked different or kustom .

it was well worth the scroll , though ..
