I am signing up to take my cpr refresher course right away. Like others said your actions saved your son. Thoughts and prayers from my family to yours.
We worried about the same thing, all the time, with my daughter. We bought a video monitor with sound. Doesn't have an alarm but it is very sensitive, so you can hear her breathing. If you can't hear her you can turn on the video and see with the infrared camera. Also the monitor is hand held, and cordless, so you can take it with you. She's 2 and 1/2 and we still use it to this day. $125 very well spent. My prayers are with your entire family.
Jake is in God's hands now and with all the back up he has with prayers from every area of the U.S. God hears us asking for help. That CPR training sure pays off doesn't it? God Bless You All
I slept with my hand on my son's while they were in the bassinett. I was scared to death of this. I'm so glad you were able to do the CPR, amazing how training takes over. Keep us posted and God Bless.
Angel Care Monitor http://www.angelcare-monitor.com/english/hispeed/angelcare.html You can get them at Toys or Babies R Us, Target and so on. I as well have a 3 month old girl and a two year old boy. We used this with the boy and are using it for the girl aswell. It does gives you a good piece of mind. Plus the alarm will wake the baby and maybe start breathing again. SIDS is a scary thing and I urge any of you with little ones to invest in one of these. And keep them sleeping on their backs! My thoughts and prayers are with you and the little guy. I hope everything turns out well.
I thinking positive thoughts for your son and hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. You did well to not panic and do the CPR. My wife and I just had our first child, he came 2 months early and is in the nicu. So far things are progressing nicely. He has had some bradycardia "spells" as well, but so far he has resolved them himself. I think the angel monitor is a must have item. I just did the CPR course on Sunday night. When I was doing it I was thinking I hope I never have to do this for real. ricki
