I have one of those IN ADDITION to the "radiator" style cooler on one of my cars..

I have had BAD LUCK with the ones that ARE NOT welded on the ends..
(the one you show IS WELDED ON THE ENDS.)

its operation is greatly dependent on the amount of air you can get to pass over it..

so will it do the job.. MAYBE.. (not the answer you were looking for HUH?)

  3. any answer is a good answer man. i need to make a decision on a rad. for my car and this would improve my options quite a bit. thanks sawzall. i will probably buy it and run the way you are just because i kill transmissions and this may help.

We have installed a number of them on cars at the shop and they work pretty well, never had any problems. They are finned inside the tube too, so there is a LOT more cooling going on than you think. Much more surface area to dissipate the heat. Just get it in some decent airflow and you should be home free.

  5. fidgiter is that as a stand alone or in conjunction?

I'm getting ready to put one on the "T". Don't know how much air it will pick up in the limited space.

If you have a high stall or plan to use it hard, don't rely on that as the only cooler IMO.

I have used them as stand alone coolers when there is plenty of air movement.Had no problems so far.
