    How about purple ?

  4. Purple crossed my mind....but not a dark purple...a bright purple Like Jerry Duncans 5W.

If u look carefully its a purple body with dark red engine and running gear along with the susp components.

    I love it....but will it suit a 3W....not sure...

If that is the car that was in American Rodder a million years ago I only once ever saw that car in real life and the purple on it looked okay in real life...but in pictures (and what the heck, real life also) that car leans too close to pink for me....but everything else on that car rocked!

  6. 50 Merc....yep thats the one on the cover of American Rodder 1988, Jerry Duncans car which i believe was sold on Ebay some months ago.

Killer ride....heres some more pix....gotta admit, Id prefer the purple side of the colur more than the pink....but its a weird kinda colour coz in different pix/light it looks pink...then purple, then pink.....

  7. kent bash did an art piece with a '33-4 coupe in it. it was lt. blue with orange flames on it. sounds wierd, but i've been kind of hung up on it since i saw it. [IMG]

  8. There's not many posters that I've bought over the years. But that one is hanging on the wall in the garage.
Picking a colour is the hardest thing.

I've always been a blue car person and when I picked the colour for the Chev, it was always gunna be blue (Porche Blue 35U) and I've always been happy with it. But it's one of those colours that changes with the light.
We did a Christmas party for McDonalds House at Monash last year, the kids would come over and I'd ask them to pick the rod they wanted to go for a ride in. There were 8 or 10 rods of all colours, scollops, flames you name it. They would say the silver/grey/green/black (never blue) one and it always turned out to be mine. Became a standing joke for the day. Moral of the story, if you go metallic, pick a strong colour.

Did you know that there are more colourblind males than females?

  9. The following is a poor photo as it is in the shadow and not highlighting the color, but definately somethhing along these lines tickles my fancy.....for the core body colour, something alot like Maiki's EH (toyo starlet colour...)

    Cheers,

I've always had a hard time getting the color on my cars that I have in my head. This beige 34 P/U is a mixture of Corvette buckskin and a gallon of brown that was mixed wrong. My buddy named it "Turkey Turd Tan"

46 Fords had a pretty beige.

My satin black 3 window. 10 years ago it was different from the teal tupper ware buggies. Now it's trite.

  14. Hey all thanx for the input once again....

SB....yeah Ive been down to Chooks B4 and scoped out his ride...last time I saw it he was preppin the body for paint.

That purple is a bit too dark for me I have to admit. BTW, barring any disasters Im gonna try and get down to Carrum Downs on Sun May 1.

    You know why !!
