Wasn't there a road racing Roadster in California called the "Roller Skate"?

Interesting post. I've long wondered about the possibility of adopting Indy car suspension technology from the straight axle era, to a street rod. Same thought about using torsion bars from sprint car suppliers, although the street rod would be heavier.

Done right, it could make a great looking rod - the straight-axle Indy cars from the 50's-early 60's and the Miller cars from the 30's were quite sophisticated and beautiful!!

Thanks to an earlier HAMBER post, I got a copy of "Hot Rod Chassis Construction" which discusses torsion bar set ups for street rods, although it seems to be very rare.
