kinda makes you wish you started going years ago, huh?

Indeed the best time you can have with cars. Period.

Great photos. You have an eye for composition. :)

I think some of those could go vertical for the 08 HAMB Calendar

Coby, I see you met one of our local guys. The guy who owns the modified is Dave Lukkari from Apple Valley. Also, I wired the car for him when he built it. You sure did shoot some really awesome pix ! Looking for the next issue of Church !

Coby thanks for coming and helping out. I knew you would love it out there. Its hard to explain to someone who knows they would love to go to Bonneville but never has. Its a feeling you can't ever get out of your system. I highly reccommend to those of you who plan on going in the future to just go ahead and plan on going every year for the rest of you life. The salt get right into the bloodstream and then its all over. Coby your photos always amaze me. I'll bet you could take magazine ready shots with a camera phone.
I want to personally thank you for all your support...... Lucky

Man, I can believe Coby takes such great shots with that crummy little point'n'shoot! We will definitely be driving out next year!

My first Speed Week was a tremendous experience, and i can't wait to go back. Everyone was supercool, especially all the HAMBurglars who trekked out to the salt to cheer on the Old Crow. A most special thank you to Lucky for putting up with my horrible snoring every night!

However, all the glory and majesty of Speed Week pales in comparison to the singular experience of meeting Johnny Sparkle. I'll just say this: You haven't lived until you've snorted some of Johnny's Magic Pixie Dust off a Wendover stripper's ass. FABULOUS!!

Coby, I had a good time hanging out with you and the rest of the crew in the Old Crow pit. Glad to see you're on the mend too.

I hope you guys didn't pour out any of that 50+ year old whiskey. That was good stuff.

I had a great time taking up space in the Old Crow camp with Johnny Sparkle, Coby, and Coop. We successfully held everything down so it wouldn't blow away. Other than that, our contributions to the team were nil.

Johnny Sparkle told me "If you want to hang with Johnny Sparkle, you better shine". I am glad we were all up to the task.

I thought Coop would be a lot taller and more evil. Instead he is cute and cuddly.

I also got to see some of my home area boys run 173 in their 1950 ford coupe. I haven't talked to them since I left to see if they bettered themselves at all....

I finally got home last night. On the way home Junior and I stopped off at a few places and bought some junk. We went to the tower museum somewhere out on the plains where we saw not one, but 3 2 headed calves!

One of the other highlights of the trip was a Junkyard outside of Kansas City Missouri where we met an interesting old fellow who was friends with Ray Farhner of the "Eclipse" and "Boot Hill Express" fame. He actually sold me one of the signs from Ray's shop. I am still stoked about that.

I was shocked that Plowboy was not barefoot and clad in overalls, and appeared to have a full set of teeth.

You forgot that we helped put the cover back on the tent frame in the morning. Not to mention that we were there to support and boost morale with our incredibly good looks. Our contributions were quite signifigant.

I have to agree, Coop really is cute and cuddly. I had to resist the urge to pinch his cheeks and give him hugs the entire time.

It was too hot for overalls and my brother is a dentist. He went to school with the guy that did the "Billy Bob" teeth. I provided the mold for them before I got my own fixed. I wore my AC/DC flip flops since I had to look my best in public.

Now that I am in the comforts of home, I am now sitting in my overalls with bare feet and a piece of grass stuck in my teeth. No shirt, of course.

Road Apple, you're quite the artist there! Amazing how peaceful those first pics seem. All that horsepower and uproar throughout the day. You have a knack for getting that across. Sitting here at work, I honestly got chills............

  30. Coby, great pictures. Look forward to that issue of Church, let us know when they get printed.

Also, didn't know that the Beatty Tank was being auctioned off. Anyone going to that auction, I can't get out there for Pebble this year, and I would love to know if it sells (though I sure can't afford it!).
