Now, it's 30's-70's, so some pictures may not be "HAMB" oriented but I don't feel like digging through for just a couple pics. If you see something you want, I can call and ask how much. I don't know what to look for that may be "special" but, do tell if you see something.
yah, most is solid minus the floors. katrina put a lot of water on the ground, but the bodies are mostly in good or atleast repairable shape. I really want the flat bed ford, or the dodge pick-up. he wont part anything out, gotta buy it full. he likes his cars too if you know what i mean.
oh and heres the good stuff! im not knowledgeable on models, and all from the 20's, so someone please share what this is please.
That's a driver by the way, it will crank and scoot down the highway from what he tells me. I think he wants something like 12,000 for it. I can't remember really. Also, here's what he CALLS an el camino for obvious reason, but I believe it's a custom. A very well done custom at that. I thought el caminos didnt start til after this body chevy was done with, heres the pics. Stained oak bed, HAS to be custom built. This car may have a good book of history behind it for all I know. I've never seen a factory bed, fully oak. It's all over the wheel wells, and cuts off right behind them with a wall, flat top towards the cab. It stays narrow, and bed rail height until the rear of the wheel wells and opens up. All angled cuts, no smooth transitions.
Real nice place. A was in a yunk yard in Fresno one time real cool yard much old dirt track bikes in a barn ther and som old Hot Rods one T- bucket. A thik it calld Fresno auto Wrecks sonething.
The Model A in the trailer is 28/29. The 57 Chevy "El Camino" is a custom, and used to be at a dealer in northwest Arkansas (I think he may have built it) and then was at a farm implement dealer near Searcy AR for sale. I wondered what happened to it.
NOT an El Camino...a nicely done '57 Chevy it looks like...possbily built out of a station wagon. El Caminos were first produced in 1959...and 1960...two years only, based on full size Chevys...Then in 1964 they again brought out the El Camino on a Chevelle Chassis... The Model A in the truk looks like a '28 or '29...
id like to see some shots of the 57 rolled out of the trailer..it looks beautiful in there i'd like to see it in the light though...
It's a 20 minute ride, and the guy is 90% blind, so that's a no go on getting out, unless his son is there. Majority of the time, it's just him, his daughter happened to be there today though. He said they plan on either driving or towing it down to the coast for Cruisin the Coast. I hope to find it and take quite a few pictures of it, as it seems to be the "only one" like it, obviously, being a custom. It is VERY tastefully done though. The paint on it, seems to be in great condition. The pictures don't show it but I swear it has some sort of pearl, possibly pink, over the "maroon" color.
He claims that the cars that LOOK like they could crank up and idle, do in fact crank up and idle. So I took it with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't past the ol' man!
Does anyone else have any information on the chevy custom? I would love to get this guy some info on it, more so than already told. Any idea of when it was built, or who built it exactly? Any proof to set it in stone? Any info would be great.
