What do you mean by "looking for a logo in digital catalogs"? Are you trying to find something from a clipart cd?

I usually evaluate what the client wants/needs, and what they are trying to convey to their target group. come up with some ideas that fit their requirements and other ideas they haven't thought of and whahhhlahhh!

All that is wrapped up in my style and layed out in color with dimension!

You'll never find what you want in clip art... and it'll look exactly like that CLIPART!

If you want to distinguish your company/business/personal endeavour from the rest of your compe***ion, why do the clip art thing?

But you also have to realistic with what you're doing. If it's just for your personal business cards, it may not be an issue.

If you want to move your business up, and have abetter presentation to clients/customers, you may need to consider professional graphic help.

    Clip Art = Cookie Cutter

Anyone can buy the exact same thing,
instead of coming up with something original.

Looking at clip art can be a good way to start a conversation with a designer...I'd see it as research on your part, kinda like looking at magazines for inspiration..."I like this style or how they incorporated this into it...or I don't want anything like this". But I'd advise to not use clip art if you want it to have longevity and distinct personality. Clip art is way overused in design as it is...although not a terrible thing in some situations. If you don't have a budget to hire a designer yet, it may be an OK bandaid to having some sort of iden***y though. It's kinda like a fast food burger vs a home made backyard BBQ burger - They'll both satisfy, but one is just better.

Clip art is like the **** boxes you see on the road-mainstream. Hire a good designer and get something custom designed. Then youll have something unique. Much like a hotrod .Youll be happier for it............
