Looks like an aftermarket bolt on get up copying the later cross ram Chrysler used. Is it cast iron?? Are there factory casting numbers??? Whatever the heck it is - it looks way cool.
guy died, widow is selling his stuff .. she is looking for a value on it Sent me the picture , told her $800 to $1000 for the whole thing Does that sound close ?
Really cool intake...it looks like it's a few pieces (maybe?) do to long rams bolt to the intake by the linkage pivot? Either way it looks like a complicated piece to cast...probably pretty expensive when it was produced. I bet to the right person it would be worth that and more...I've seen the long ram 413 intakes go for that if they're good and complete
Long rams for wedges and short rams for wedges They go for tween $600 bare to $1400 complete, depending on This has to be some kind of aftermarket thing
Looks to me like maybe it's a separate piece bolting on to an OEM 4-barrel manifold. So then it could be swapped on to a different engine that had enough clearance for that whole menagerie. cheers Ed N.
I agree with Ed, that's what it looks like to me too. Look closer, it's just a stock Hemi intake with an aftermarket piece bolted on in place of the carb. I bet it flows like shit too.
why does the valve cover go into the one side of it and the tube go inside the valve cover on the nearest side. and what is that line right to the right of the first carb. I CALL HOAX!
Thats the throttle linkage, chief. What about the valve covers now? Something goes into them or out of them? What the hell are you talking about? It bolts onto a stock intake for sure. You can see where it attaches, just under the pivot for the linkage. I'd say it's home made, but look at the detail where the runner meets the carb on the passenger side. Looks like a casting to me.
I dunno, on the far side, just under the carb, it looks like a crimped piece of tubing (like where a round header primary meets a rectangular port/flange) and the near side has appears to have been dimpled on the bottom for clearance over the valve cover. Looks like some simple flanges and mild steel tubing to me.
almost looks like exhaust tubing on a 2 bbl intake flange.....good use of the strap between the 2 tubes......doubling as a place to mount the bellcrank...if anything , its creative....brandon
WOW THROTTLE LINKAGE?!?!?! NO FUCKING WAY! *SARCASM* above that asshole. and look at how the pipe goes over the valve covers, doesnt it not look like the pipes going into the valve cover.
theres one of those intakes in the september 1960 hot rod magazine its a little different version the one in the magazine is on a flathead and has four 97's. and all it says about it is that it is a" exotic tuned intake manifold " the one in the picture must be a universal one . if my dahm scanner wasn't broke id show ya.
I think what you're referring to is that the generator kind of blends in with the rocker cover a bit, and the intake running behind the generator sort of gives the appearance of going right in to the cover ... I had to look at that twice as well. cheers Ed N.
For just the intake, or the "whole thing"? I'm diggin' the braces from the back of the trans to the bellhousing. What's that adapter made of, 18 gauge?
As you can see, the manifold , to me looks like exhaust tubing ? No need to fight about it fellas.. Yes, as I stated ..the whole thing, Not sure how it works but I guess it ran like this
I retract my old statement - The other angle made it look cooler than it really is. It looks like a better conversation piece than a performance piece. The motor looks nice though - I'd sell that intake addition and put the $$ towards the price of a new carb.
What's the green and white dildo-lookin'thing stickin' up at the front of the motor? heeheehee just kidding Steve
It's probably an early Max-wedge factory Chrysler intake. Used to see lots of those on 413s and 426 wedge-head engines. Nice and VERY rare!
This is 100% not stock some goofballl probably made this thinking he would make more power but is probably making half of what he should
