I looking at possibly putting a TCI Mustang II with Bags and Drop Spindles on My 54 Chevy Truck. I was gonna put a fatman but they want $800 buck more than TCI. Anybody had any problems with a TCI front end?

If you are concerned about cost, have you checked out Welder Series? Should be cheaper to ship (and harder for the shippers to F up) as well.

I've used both companies, I feel I get better support from Fatman.

Iv'e used both companies over the years, I always felt TCI makes a better product but I agree, lousy support, just didn't need much. Surprised TCI is that much cheaper, I thought that price was a big Fatman's selling advantage.

There are several choices for you ..

I installed one from www.fatmanfab.com ..Decent stuff, no big complaints ..

    Bought another one from www.jimweimerrodgarage.com
cost less, think the parts were just a bit better quality

Ch***is engineering makes a quality product too

I have installed two of these MUST II on 50's chevy trucks.
The best thing you could ever do for them.
The units I used and was very happy with are from Kennys Rod aand Custom in Ohio.
Good quality and cheaper than anything I have seen for the quality out there.
I had 40,000 miles on one of them with no problems.
Dont get power steering you wont need it.

Speedway do them too... have fitted 2 supplied by them, no problems.. like most just a copy of the TCI/ Ch***is Engineering design.

Since your project is a pickup, I'd talk to Elpolacko from here on the HAMB. Steve is the owner of Industrial Ch***is in Phoenix and does a high quality Dodge Dakota front end for trucks. He has recently added some new equipment to his shop and the quality of the products has really gone up nicely.

I'm using his setup on my 48 F1. Since the Dakota is a pickup to start with, the stock components are better and stronger for a hot rod pickup. I've got the stock Dakota parts in my garage now and they will work very well for my F1 setup.

I'd send Elpolacko an email or call him at 602-278-6800. They work most of Saturday. I don't know what the prices would be; but I'm sure he will be compe***ive for a HAMBer.

I bought couple of pieces from Industrial Ch***is and his stuff is real quality. I have bought quite a bit from Fat Man and find it hard to beat on a car that is going to be driven. He uses industrial strength metal and strong welds. Ch***is Engineering has good stuff too. I'm not a TCI fan.
