  2. Nope you give them your info and they take it out of your bank account.

Should be no cost to you, at least with Paypal there is a buyer protection plan, and if you use a credit card instead of bank account you always have the safety of your card protection as well. Where is the body?? Do you know the seller? if it's an online auction type deal - what's their feedback like?? The only costs should be to the seller.
However if it's not a confirmed account you are paying to, it could be dicey. Tim :)

yeah...I was ripped off on Ebay on a `53 F100 earlier this year,I prepaid the guy with PayPal and the truck turned out to be completely misrepresented...PayPal wouldn`t do anything about it.....but since it was on my Credit Card....my CC Company credited my account for the full amount after a month of dispute.....guy never did ask for his "solid" truck back either....

If you've started an account you can add your bank account information (card number on debit card, or checking account # & routing number).

Go to your paypal account, click on the 'profile' tab at the top right, then under 'financial information' you'll see many options. You can either do credit/debit card or bank account, whichever you prefer. Choose one, then click the 'add' button at the next screen. Fill out the information.

When you've completed all that go back to your eBay account, go to 'my ebay' and click on the auction that you won. At the top of the page you'll see an option that says 'pay now'. Click this, log into your paypal account and choose your payment method (the account info you entered earlier) and click 'make payment'. That should be it.

Thanks mate think I have it now. Just got to wait a few days for the account to activate due to validating my bank account.
    Cheers

I was watching the same auction, and I think you got a really good deal. I buy quite a bit off of eBay and I try to use Paypal as much as possible. There is no cost to you, Paypal makes their small commision from the seller. My advise would be to register with Paypal, then pay for the auction, and drive down and pick up your purchase in person. All thats left after that is to start building your new 32 three window project. Again, I think you made a good buy. Welcome to the deuce club!

He must want paypal as it is quicker & safer for him. If he took a wire transfer from you, he would need to give you his bank account number; and many people, including some bankers say that puts you at risk. If he waits for a bank check from OZ, then he will have to wait at least 5 days more to clear it....maybe more because it is out of country.

He is going to "eat" roughly 3% of the sale price in paypal fees.
