I picked up this 51 Chieftain from murdercycles back in May. After a month of dealing with a transport company it finally arrived. Yes, I bought it sight unseen. Yes, it was what I expected, thankfully! I drove it around for while waiting for my parts to arrive. New suspension; Fatman dropped uprights, front disc brakes, Jamco springs front and back. Thanks to Gordini for dropping this beast.

Here it is as it looked when it arrived in CA.

And here's how it looks today.

Next mods are a 350 sbc, turbo 350 and new rear end. This winter hope to get it chopped and build a custom grill.

    Here's my inspiration...

Yeah, I had a set on. I had to change my wheels with the disc brakes and they're short 1/2" to clear the hub caps. I hope to resolve that soon. Thanks -R

Reliability and driveability. My straight 8 is gutless and a oil burner. My hydromatic, drives me nuts. 4 speed good idea, the gear ratios, wacked.

Put a PONTIAC V8 under the hood and give it some justice.

Sorry no more photos, not my car. It was chopped, slammed and primered, that's pretty much all I know.

331 Cad front mount fits the 6 cylinder Pontiac mount holes ... put a Cad & a Dual Range in it ... I wouldn't be surprised if the hoses hooked up.

    63necker,

Cool buy!!!!!!!! I leaned to drive in a '49 Pontiac the same color as yours. You lucked out and received a very nice ride and not a rust bucket and lies. Oh, Please put some skirts on the ride............

Don't know what else you could do to that car to make it any more "killer" other than the skirts. I drove my staright eight thousands of miles for 3 years before it gave up the ghost.
Your car is great ...wish I had one like it!!!
