I was wondering if anyone can help me find tech on doing drivetrain swap into a 53 plymouth cambridge. I'm looking to do a smallblock mopar, auto trans, and 8 3/4 diff transplant. I've looked all over the net and can't seem to find anything. Are there kits premade or does it need all fabricated parts? I'd like to atleast start the planning for it being as i'm in iraq for another five months and when I get home to Texas there isn't many rods around the fort hood area to compare. Thanks in advance Matt
If you need help on the engine building side or have any questions let me know. Im a self proclaimed Mopar SB guru. But, there won't be kits in your case. For motor mounts, use the F, J, or M body motor mounts, or earlier pedestal mounts they would be easiest. The rear end will be easy as well. Find one that you like, and cut the spring perches off. Cut the ones off your old rear end if the car came with one (if it didn't, the 8 3/4 ones should work, but you may have to drill out the hole for the centering pin) mount your rear end how you want it and figure out your pinion angle, then weld them back on. ****** mount won't be hard either, just find an old mope, steal that one, and make it fit. like I said, if you need anything PM me, or email me at mirada-man@hotmail.com. I have so many old Mopar parts its rediculous.
