Does anyone have any info on this dragway? I just bought a '32 3-Window with this dragway's stickers on it and wanted to find out more. Thanks, Hyfire
It's about 20-30 miles outside of Albany, and is still in operation. I go there a couple times a year.
Ron, You should have been a school teacher. You keep correcting spelling. Haha. "dextron" How's it going? Paul
i just read somewhere this week about this being an 1/8 mile drag strip. that goes down the front straight of the oval race track. And the start line is before the grandstands start so the bunouts have to be real long to get your car in front of the grandstand. This was about a couple of Nostalgia funny car guys that did an exibition run up there last week. The funny cars ran the 1/8, but it looks to be a 1/4 for regular racing. Frank
I think you could be wrong ..Landcaster Draway outside of Buffalo is exactly what you mentioned..trust me I race at both places
I think you could be right that I could be wrong it sucks to get old and mindless. or maybe 1/2 mindless got part of it right
Lebanon Valley's strip runs the entire length of the property behind the oval speedway. Fonda Speedway had a drag strip in the infield back in the 60's. Ran down the "pit lane" in the infield and across the fouth turn into the fairgrounds. Shirley Muldowney began her career at Fonda. Utica Rome Speedway had a strip almost perpendicular to the back straightaway of the oval. Been closed for a long time.

I remember Spencer Speedway was a 1/10 mile and the shutdown went around the turn on the oval track. Lebanon Valley was a nice track in the early seventies and a 1/4 mile.
want some more stickers? im about 15 minutes from there....usually only attend the nostalgia drag/swap tho..
Yep, the Valley is a 1/4 mile dragstrip behind the oval dirt track. It's my local track. They used to only run an 1/8th mile on Nostalgia day. I don't know if this is true or not anymore. Last time I was there was 5 years ago. There's a bunch of videos of cars running there on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lebanon+valley&search=Search
They still do the 1/8 mile twice a year at the nostalgia drags, I think the next one is in October, but not sure of the date.
1/8 mi racing is only for street rods during nostalgia days (T-buckets without rollbars, etc). NHRA legal cars run the full 1/4.
Hey what about those pics? Yes I mean the car. Oh yeah one more thing I was told that Shirley Muldowney ran a duece coupe powered by a 348 chevy at the time. Is this true or false and if so does anyone have a pic of it in action.
http://www.lebanonvalley.com/ Go here to see it. It's alive and well. It has a dirt oval and a drag strip. It's located on Rt. 20 half way between Albany,NY and Pittfield,Ma. Let's see some pix of that coupe !!!!
located in lebanon valley ny upstate track has been around for 50 plus years and has been the strip was bought and upgraded recently alot of great racing through out the years has a dirt track right beside it a lot of fun
http://www.dragway.com/ Its a 1/4 mile strip. I go every once in a while for test an tune. Just off the Mass pike (just over the MA/NY border coming from the east) Pinks did an episode from there. Also Orange County Choppers did a show from there, they ran an electric drag bike.
i heard last year they lost the big end due too flooding,,next week it was back up,,nice to see people care about the sport
