WSRA Corn Roast in Fond du Lac, WI this weekend. Who's goin?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Junkyard Dog 32, Aug 27, 2003.

  1. I'm headed down on Friday. There's usually a bunch that hits the fairgrounds on Friday night.
I think there's usually about 800 cars on Saturday. It's a good show.

Chime in here, and we can figure a time and place to meet.

I like the corn roast, but I'm going to stay around here and TERRORISE Harley riders with the roadster.

Have fun, you should be able to meet some chicks at the dance on Sat. There is always some hotties. [IMG]

  3. Definately a good time.I'll be there for sure.

With all this Harley traffic around here, I'm not leaving my driveway. Friggin' hiways are crazy!!! I'm better off staying in the garage and getting something done.

some of us "fox vally hunks" are going to be there, I have to hit the skatepark friday, and school some little kids, but I think I will be down SATURDAY to look at STREETRODS and STEAL more ideas..... BTW ..... if anybody wants to visit the NEW STREETROD shop we can arrange something....... LUKESTER

  7. [IMG] Waaah!!! I'm staying home. Motorcycle men scare me... [IMG]
...and not just here... I've heard this for months.
Gimme a fucking break... Fuck those biker fags...
Cookie cutter cool... Wannabe hard-ass... Open the paper and buy any one of a hundred bikes that look like the other million... Gotta have another ride for M.D. so we can act like we're a gang and people will think we're special... And don't forget to bungee a stuffed teddy bear or the ever so quaint pig to the forks...
Fuck 'em! Get in your fuckin' ROD and show 'em what real cool is. This corn roast has been going on for 32 years, don't let the "flash in the pan" 100th influence you into missing a good time with "real" people.
Don't get me wrong. There's some really cool bikes out there, and some good bike people. But this thing in Milwaukee is just a propaganda machine built and fueled by Harley to boost their sales. If I owned a bike (which I have) and wanted to be "cool"... the last place you'd see me would be Milwaukee this weekend. They're not HOGS, they're SHEEP...

BOBBLEED- I'll kiss your whole entire hairy ass if you drag one of them bikes to Fond du Lac behind your roadster by a chain.

See ya at the corn roast.

I'll be at the corn roast on Saturday with Lukester. There's no yuppie bikers that are gonnna scare me away. So get the corn on the grill and keep the beer cold. I'm on my way.

JYD...relax and lighten up a little. I didn't say anything about being afraid of the 10 billion lookalike bikers in the area. You are right on some of your other points though. I just would rather make some progress in the garage than sit on the hiway in traffic while these biker guys do 35 mph on their tour routes.
An hour and a half ride home from work last night that is 30 miles, influenced my decision.
BTW thanks for the scoop on the show...I've been there a half dozen times or so... I do know what I am missing.
Have a good time up there with the Wisconsin STREETRODS and CORN.

  10. CAS- I didn't mean to go into a four-wheel drift there. Sorry.

Did you guys know (and this is justy how I heard it) that, Harley swept up bunches of hotel rooms for miles around Milwaukee... Including FDL.
People who have been coming to the corn roast since the days of the KOA campground, can't get rooms. I'm very interested to see what this is going to cost everyone in the end. Especially the WSRA corn roast and it's future in Fond du Lac [IMG]

    All I know is:
If I have a ROD, I'm goin'... even if I have to drive in the rain for the whole 300 miles. It'll always be my first and favorite.

Again... Sorry about the rant, CAS.

I remember the KOA, it had Go Carts.
My dad played there one year on the back of a yellow 40 Ford semi trailer thing. I was 5.

I'm excited about all the harleys. I know they're cheezy, but I think this is cool. I'm going to drive the roadster down to brady street and look at Harley chicks boobs.

    Cool.

Flame throwers are cool. I think you should light some farts.

  14. BOB- Here's a pic of the "fam" heading to KOA in '74-'75.
Me on the left, Mom and my brother in the coupe and dad.
Talk about a Hokey Ass picture...
My dad and I built that car... with help from friends (pre-H.A.M.B.). Fond du Lac, like Milwaukee, has a real strong hotrod foundation, and it was cool to see how guys threw in and helped build everyones cars... Just what RYAN is talking about in KC. It just was.

    And yeah, that's a 455 Olds J-2...
Wish I still had that for the H.A.M.B Drags...

The fairgrounds in Fondy is big enough to match BTT50's (or damn close), but it still never get's the turnout. Too bad, it's a cool show.
Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac would be tits...and would rival BTT50's for sure.
The fairgrounds has the buildings, though.

I just want everyone to show up in spite of the bike crap.

  17. Anybody thats coming to the show, look for us in the middle of the blacktop parking lot.We usually get there early and get a good spot.I'll bring my photos of the drags along. If you show up late,we stay at the fairgrounds all nite.Last year it was like 3:00a.m. And if your lucky enough to hang around after the show on Sunday,we all go to my place for a big bonfire.Hope to see a bunch of you.

And, HEY! There's a big craft sale in one of the other buildings... Go in there and buy somethin' from my Grandma.
She'll be the lady in the white hair and glasses.
Tell her Junkyard Dog sent ya, and I'm sure she'll set you up.
