Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by independentcustoms, Aug 21, 2007.

  1. Does anyone know on here know wether a "legs under" dragster are legal or not to run in NHRA or IHRA? Will they certify? I know there are some FED's freaks on here.

I don't know if there is an sfi spec that says yes or know, but not too long ago they were still making exhibition p***es with the Freight Train, so based on that, I'd say there may not be an issue.

What you can do is call SFI and as for Carl Olsin,,, he could tell you, or at least get you pointed in the right direction to the one who would know.

I am fairly certain a "legs under" is a NO NO - if you're looking for a current certification. I remember reading that and I will try to confirm it for you.

Exhibition vehicles with history get certain allowances not offered to the rest of us.

  4. I always thought they were banned, but wasn't sure. Here's a question, anyone know how the hell you got in and out of them, without being able to bend your knees?

Racing lost quite a few pilots due to leg under cars. They sure look *****en will the low slung *** end, but the danger/cool factor just isn't warranted in my opinion. I have seen a couple on display ahe Hot Rod Reunion and March Meet, but they are for display only.

  6. I've read that for years, that legs under was more dangerous than traditional setups. Why is that, or is it the fact that getting in and out has got to be hard as hell? I'm curious as to what makes them so much worse?
