This morning I received a message from Doc saying that his grandmother suffered a stroke yesterday and he will not be able to bring his cars to Joplin to join in the festivities.

He said, depending upon her progress, he might try to fly in, but that's only a maybe.

We were looking forward to spending some time with him as his work is so stressful it's cool to see him get away from the ER for a bit so he can detox and have some fun.

Since Doc is such a good friend to so many of us here on the board I'd like to ask that we all keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers as we prepare for the weekend.

    Thanks,

That is too bad. I met Doc at the cinematic this year and read about some of the things he does for others. He is a great guy and hope everything gets beeter for he and his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out for his Grandmother. I'm bummed he probably won't make it but family does come first of course.

If there every was a Superman, DOC is it. My thoughts go out to his grandmother and hope a speedy recovery in in order.

DOC deserves all the positive mojo we can send.

Lets keep DOC and his family in our thoughts, it is the least we can do for him.

Doc is unbelievable. One of the most generous men I've encountered. Prayers go out for your grandmother's well being.

Thoughts and prayers from my family for him and his. I know nothing 1st hand about him and haven't had the opportunity to shake his hand but from what I've heard, Doc must be one of the great ones.

I'm not even going to Mokan and I feel something missing without Doc being there. He goes where he's needed and that's a good thing.

    Sorry to hear that.

For all Doc does for everyone else, it seems that he never gets to go and do anything that he wants to do, he is always working.

Hopefully all goes well and he can still fly in.

Doc, give me a call if you need a ride to the strip.

My prayers go out for your grandmother.

I was really hoping to shake your hand this weekend. We've never had any direct contact, but you are a hero of mine. The overwhelming generosity that I've seen from you is nothing short of inspiring. I just hope you realize that those sort of thing have a ripple effect through those that you contact, and they give everybody a chance to be a better person. Thanks.

Sorry for getting all sappy. I was hoping to tell you this in person, but I probably wouldn't have been able to say it in person anyhow.

I just want to say thank you for all of the kind words and prayers. My grandma is very dear to me and it broke my heart to see her after her stroke. She is doing really well though. She started out with total paralysis of her left side and she was unable to speak. She has regained all of her motor strength, and she just has a little bit of difficulty with her speech. Hopefully, she will have a full recovery with a little therapy. She has a very gifted team of doctors looking out for her, but grandpa doesn't trust anyone without running things by me first. I really hate to miss Mokan ( the FED's not too happy about it either) but I better stay close to home this week. Thanks again for all of the support.

    Doc.
