here's an old shot of mine..
It was a bobber in the new mwxico area back in the 50's, my pops picked it up in the late 60's but never finished it, and my uncle had it in a crate which he used as a kitchen table for 15 years. Ive been collecting parts for several years. I am going to get it back on the road soon. not bad! 40 years in the making! haha

Of Course it depends on who you ask and what you think is a Bobber. Some think a factory rake bike with custom paint, is a Bobber, others think it's a bobberif it's Factory paint, minus front fender, brake, turn signal/horn'misc. trim and a lopped off back fender as a bobber.Others say it has to be pre-55 to be a Bobber with mod's mentioned above. But what ever you deem a bobber I think they all are cool, here are a couple of my personal ride I built over the past couple years, is it a Bobber ? its an 01 with heavy Motor mod's, chain drive conversion, no front brake/fender/turn signal's, suicide shift, internal throttle so the bars look like a Schwinn Stingray(no controls) pushing 100hp.So is it a bobber don't know is it fun Hell Yhea..(Going to a new owner tommorow, have to sell due to long recovery time from 4th back surgery....HHHHHMMMMMM what to build next?)

I'll buy that definition. Thats the way Ive always thought of it. shortened or "Bobbed" rear fender-hence the term bobber. Ive also heard "made in the US or one of our allies in WWII".. which includes british bikes etc. to be a true bobber.
The term is used pretty losely nowadays though...60's bikes, choppers being called bobbers, and jap bikes etc. I like em all too though.
