I have never seen such a collection of cars and parts in my life. Check out the parts section too. http://www.kruse.com/auctions/brandon07/index.asp
Can someone bid on this one for me...I need the door handles and ??? http://www.kruse.com/auctions/detai...n Collection Auction&SEARCH_NAME=Buick&PAGE=1
My sons neighbor gave me a complete catalog on that sale. My wife says I have to much junk. Now I can show her what to much is.
Yes, I seen the catalogue too. Its like a Sears only with old cars and parts. Cool thing is... This guy wasnt just a collector. By the looks of the parts and parts cars. He was active in building them too. Any one know this guy?? I am sure with the 1000's of parts there. There will be deals.
Any of the hamers going? Wish i could bid on that 59 chevy for my school cl*** to restore #6168 or the 60 chevy #6062
Yes, I want the 55 crown vic that is listed as a merc. Or any of the two door hardtops from 31 to 36. Quite a collection though.
You can post an absentee bid if your really interested in something. Or I am sure if its something "special" you could phone in during the bidding if you register beforehand.
Great Collection but does "Kruse" not have a single car person on staff proofing the list? If ignorance is bliss....... Kruse must be a happy place to work
I do not know Mr. Brandon personally but I have been to the plantation several times. He also is an avid Pilot and owns several WWI planes. He used to have an annual show at his place..show up with an ID showing you were a member of any car club and you were in free. He opened his buildings and sheds for people to look into etc. and it is totally unbelievable the amount of vehicles, tractors, parts etc. that this man owns. I could not even begin to describe the buildings with just Fords etc. Unfortunately his shows ended with the death of a participant who flew into the show in an Ultralight but crashed while trying to land after that the shows were done. According to the Nashville Tennessean, If I remeber the article correctly, Mr. Brandon got his start by going to people's houses, knocking on the door and telling them he had heard they had a car for sale and then they would say NO but it was probably the one down the street or 2 blocks over that he was looking for and if I rememver the article correctly this is how his used car business started when he was a teenager. The last thing I remember of the article is a picture of Howard sitting beside one of the huge steel wheels from a steam powered tractor and saying that it would be his headstone when he was buried...the inscription...what else..."Last of the Big Wheels". Just thought some of you might enjoy some of the history behind Mr. Brandon's collection. The auction is only 40 miles from home...I know I won't be able to afford to buy anything but where you gonna get 3 days entertainment for 15 bux? I may go just to watch! 48 Poncho
Now Randy....Henry really did make other models. There is a nice 39 in the mix and some 35-36 coupes too. I like the speedster prototype. I would love to just be there for the parts alone.
