It just came in yesterday and it looks great. The NOS horn ring finishes it of nicely. I can't wait to finish the Starliner!!!

In case you missed the other post, here's who did the work http://www.pearlcraft.com.au/

It looks even better in person!

Wasn't a big fan at first. But, Wow! I think it would be a great late 50's or 60's Custom touch. In fact, the steering wheel looks pretty damn good by itself, just hang it on the wall, instant ART!

Thanks for sharing, I bet it wasn't cheap either.

Mind if I ask you how much that set you back? What condition was your wheel in prior to pearlizing? It looks amazing, nice pictures on their site.

With shipping both ways it was about $600.

The wheel was in nearly perfect condition before t was done. They do full restoration work too. So they can work with pretty much anything.

  14. Too sweet! I had thought about sending the 59/60 olds wheel I have for my 49 Fleetline to them and have it done. I'm not thinking anymore.....off it goes!

WOW!, That looks fantastic, what a nice touch. Hey, now you can get a steering wheel that will match the handle of your switch blade knife!!

  17. That's a classic Aussie custom touch, which (sadly) is rarely seen these days.

I guess we (we being us Aussies) can now say: "You put the steering wheel on the wrong side!"

Being that it's an Aussie steering wheel now! ;)

I have a friend who had them do a '40 Ford wheel in red. Not even saying it is insanely beautiful would do it justice...

After seeing a ton of your recent posts,
its cool to see the "trickle down theory" at work,
if its lottery, workin money or job perks,
other than that 700 tranny, you've got some bitchin stuff.

After your last post I contacted the Aussies about applying their skills to the 56 Vette wheel I'm using in my Merc. I'm going to send it to them over the winter while the car is resting.

They sent a very nice response to my inquiry and gave me the whole skinny on sending the wheel - how to ship it, how to deal with customs on both ends. I have a really good feeling about this. I'm glad I learned about it here on the HAMB.
