weld in pop up gascaps (custom chrome)

Just wondering if anybody here has any ideas for a solution to our problem

We are working on a car with a custom chrome pop up gas cap, ( http://www.customchrome.com/catalogs/ccp2007/full.asp?page=964 )

bottom right hand corner.

the problem is that the plastic threaded portion is broken, and custom chrome has discontinued them. Does anybody know someone who might have one in stock? the threads are odd, and our machinest says he can not duplicate it.

i think yearwood has something very simliar from janows rod and custom i think it has same kinda threads

 

yes those two are so much alike Janows may have been getting them from custom chrome. we are going to check with those guys today
