That's a pretty decent average IMO. My boat gets between 8- 12 mpg depending on if I can catch a tail wind!

I gotta say it was very easy to apply.

The first day we left the Slat Flats we stopped at a car wash and I took off the salt and road grime that was on the outside of the car being careful not to pressure wash the salt into more nooks and crannies. Later that day we hit about an hour of rain on our way to Jackson Hole. PurplePickup said there was a constant trail of salt coming out from underneath Big Olds while we were driving in the rain. That made me feel really good.

Hitting the three days of storms in the norther states on the way home a couple of days later had it's advanatges, along with disadvantages. When I got home from work on Monday I backed Big Olds outta the garage and proceeded to check him over. I found only two pockets of salt in the engine compartment.

I knew though that I had to completely hose him off with the Salt Away product to completely remove the salt residue. Even though I couldn't see it, I knew there was damaging stuff still on him. I spent over an hour, in the rain, with the hose hooked up to the applicator, hosing him off in every nook and cranny I could. I flushed all the body seems, the complete inside of the car (thankfully no interior yet), the trunk, the engine compartment and the undercarriage. Hopefully I got every spot. Time will tell.

The Salt Away was almost $50 for a quart including shipping and the applicator. I feel this was a small price to pay to hopefully alot of protection for Big Olds. Again, time will tell.

But you were only having 1/2 the fun!;)
Did you decide to come back east yet? Or are you on permanent vacay at this point?
My windshield was pretty dirty after you departed. I guess you were good for something;) :D

Hope you had fun at Pebble Beach, it looked like a great year to go!
