H.A.M.B. Meet & Greet @ The NSRA Richmond Nationals

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by D-Russ, Aug 19, 2007.

  1. OK guys, I'm organizing a HAMB meet and greet for Saturday afternoon at the NSRA Richmond Nationals. I'm going to try to get there early enough on Saturday to secure a spot under the big tree right by where everyone exits the fairgrounds each night. It's near one corner of the swap meet area. There will be a HAMB banner hanging from a white canopy there. The banner will say HAMB Meet & Greet 2:30 Saturday - Right Here.

Look for a shiny yellow and white 57 Chevy (57 Heap), a shiny black fenderless 32 Ford cabriolet (Jackandeuces), a flat black fenderless 29 Ford roadster with a 5 on the doors, possibly a yellow fenderless 29 Ford sedan w/blower (Igor), a severly chopped, fenderless flat black 30 Ford coupe with faded pinstriped flames, a chopped green 54 Chevy custom and a gray fenderless 34 5 window coupe – most of those cars will probably be parked in the general vicinity.

If I can't get that exact spot, just look nearby for the white canopy with the HAMB banner.

Don't expect too much -- there won't be any door prizes, hot dogs or bikini models, it'll just be a chance to meet other central east coast HAMBers and put faces with user names. I'll probably take a group picture or two to post here at about 3:00, so if you care, don't be ridiculously late.;)

So who's going to be there?

  2. I'm going up Thursday afternoon/evening unless I get a call from Jackandeuces with a different plan. But I will be there Friday morning on through Sunday.

If we can't get the 1st primo location, look for my car and the banner. I will bring along my pop up shade machine too. If you pay to get in with your car, bring it to the meet and greet. I will be at the location one hour before it begins so you will know you found the right spot.

Let's see - no hot dogs. No bikini models. Hmmmm. I will try to stop in and say hello anyway.

Hey! I like to meet AND greet! Will be my first trip to this show, or any show of this magnitude, so I might have a hard time finding you guys, but I will certainly look. Big tree...white HAMB banner...um, are you sure you can't find some bikini models?? :)

I will be there, but not in a bikini.

Only one car this year. Sorry.

It will be the red white and blue one.

I just checked the weather for Richmond tomorrow and it's supposed to be 98 with 60% humidity. Please God tell me that you can bring beer into the show...or at least they sell it somewhere!

I saw Squarecat's star-spangled BOOYA t-bucket at registration tonight. And a couple dozen other rides on their way in to town...stopping traffic all over Broad St.

Damn it! I never found the HAMB banner, but now that I'm home, I think I figured out where you guys were. Were you over at the fence across from all the buildings that looked like an old west town? They were all wood with natural wood rails. Can't remember what cars were there, but I do remember that there was a Virginia Tech Hokie radio van set up in the vicinity. If you guys weren't there...I have no idea where you might have been. I was looking for you under the trees near where the cars were coming in.

Pretty cool show. Hot as hell. But boy did I get to see a lot of cars. Does the NSRA post pictures on who wins tomorrow?
