I'll bet that the ten cars go for an average of $30,000 each! Top seller will be the one Bruce Meyer wants for his collection!

WTF am I missing on these insane auctions??? Probably just jealous that I don't have that kind of money to spread around, I guess.
I was in Monterey after the gavel fell on these and got to look them over, preaty cool stuff. We also got to watch Roy and Chip sign their cars afterwards. Roy made the comment that they might have got more money for his if the auctioneer had turned on the working head and tailights on the car. When he did turn them on eveyone including Foose were blown away by it, apperantly he was the only one who knew they worked.
Money went to MD research. FYI, I have a SoCal Speed Shop pedal car signed by Alex and Pete and my brother has one signed by Jimmy Shine. We started the pedal car auctions three years ago as a fund raiser for Therapetic riding in Durango.
These pedal cars are nice and all, but nothing compares to what my late father built me as a kid, It was complete. Full grey interior, with a very very intricate pinstriping design on the working trunk lid, done by Alex in Wonderland. Where the guages would have been, it said Lil' Rick. One of these days, i'll dust it off and take some more pictures of it. Hoping to pass it on to my son some day. See you on the streets -Rick
I am working on one now for my daughter. Its a AMF generic. I did some metal work on it. I should post some pics.
Those pedal cars are too small for anything more than displaying on a shelf or for the real little tikes. What happens when they outgrow them? I prefer to mess with the 3/8 scale and 1/3 scale powered promotionals that they made in the 50s-60s that were either gas or electric powered. They can be driven by average sized adults and most have working headlights, tallights, brakelights and horn along with forward and reverse. The powercar company made Thunderbirds 1955-66 they also made Mustangs in 1965-67 Mercury (big M) juniors in 1957-58 This one has been modified to look like a turnpike cruiser pace car and Plymouth Fury Juniors 1958-1960 (the 1960 was 1/4 scale) Then other companies made other cars like the 1958 Desoto Firemite by Robel that also made the Divco milk truck JR Donalson MFG of Kansas City made Edsels in 1958 and Ford Sunliners in 1957-58 The 1956 Pontiac was made by Silvestri art studios and many others I own a 1961 thunderbird JR, a 1958 Desoto Firemite and the factory body molds for the Powercar 1957 Thunderbird, 1958-60 Thunderbird and 1965-66 Mustangs. I've seen most of those in the tin and they are gimcrack hunks of plastic tat compared to the Audi. These are made and sold by Audi for 9700 Euros - a limited edition of 999. They are huge - about half the size of a real Silver Arrow. With a modern electric motor and a LI Ion battery pack they would be a fantastic "green" alternative.
It's nice to know that after such a tragedy, like a shark attack, that these women could find stylish yet diminutive cars for their, new, shorter stature.
