I did a quick search and havent seen anything posted on this, and knowing how important the history of this truck is to most on the H.A.M.B., I thought that I would be bold enough to post this without the permission of Vic Collins, Mark Wojcik, and Ron Blaufeder (the guys that are building the faithful reproduction of the original Kopper Kart). I figured that it wasn't a secret since it was already mentioned on Meguiar's Car Crazy. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> The truck has recently made it into plastic filler and primer, and will make its first public appearance at Lead East over Labor Day weekend at the Parsippany, NJ Hilton. It will be on display there and then it goes back to Kustoms by Flash (Marks shop) for a downhill run to completion. Plans are in place for March of 08 to send it off to the Detroit AutoRama where the finished product will be on display with the Aztec, just like the original was displayed 50 years ago. <o> </o> This truck is CONTAGIOUS! If anyone can be there they should, to get a sense of appreciation for the number of hours that have been put into this truck. <o> </o> Hell yeah! <o> </o> Daran
mark ,vic, and ron put alot of time in and have this truck a prefect clone so if your into old customs or enjoy seeing some nice work try and see it at lead east your be glad you did!!
I can't be there, but take lots of pics and post them here I'd love to see them. Mark rember this pic ,, I think I sent you a more grainy version to hide the photo chop
YEAH! THE KOPPERKART LIVES! Mark,Vic& Ron have dedicated themselves to a faithful reproduction of the original Barris creation.I would like to be at the 08 detroit autorama to see the unveiling.Mark does exceptional work and if i can get off work id love to be there.Mike
Can't wait to see it ... always been a dream of mine to track down the original, seems like it just disapeared into thin air..... I hope they took and post some build shots. I am especially interested in how the did the glass, I heard that the barris boys had quite a time with the glass in the original truck.
Thanks for the update. We were talking about it the other day wondering how it was comming along. Hopefully the truck will make it to the Mid west. Kopper Kart is one of my favorite all time Barris Kustoms and cannot wait to see it in person. Happy Trails, Mick
It's been an honor to work in the shop and watch the truck come together over the past several months. The truck really looks stunning as it's getting final filler and prime, and really taking shape. Mark's work is outstanding and Vic and Ron really have outdone themselves on this one. I think it's gonna make a pretty big splash
Body work roughed in. White primer. Loaded on trailer ready for Lead East. Here is a small taste...... (see pic).
