this has been an off and on, love/hate kinda project for me. one day i can't wait to work on it the next day i want to destroy it with a 20lb sledge but it's getting closer to being an actual car now and i kinda like the way it's coming out. i wanted to take this thing up to bonneville so the paint was a huge rush job and really looks like crap, patch panels, skim coat and paint in one day left alot to be desired, since some of the metal was pitted and just left that way in the rush. i got a call 10 days before bonneville to work on someone else car that was actually going to be raced (american eagle liner) so i kinda gave up working on my car to help them out, which turned into a pain in the but and alot of conflict in my head since the last 5 or 6 years i've had to ride with someone else because i either just sold my car or it wasn't done yet so i really wanted to get my car done. this year turned out ok as we took les's rusty rooster (31 pickup) up there which we built a few months back and anybody that wanted to drive/ beat the crap out of it on the salt was welcome to.

ok i'm rambling so anyways after bonneville i got back to working on the car but was having some major issues with the mag not wanting to fire all the time, so i got another one, then the rear carb was weeping out the vent hole, got that taken care of, do a little more wiring and here's where i'm at today, flick the fuel pump on, push the start button, wait for a little oil pressue and flick the mag switch and damn this thing sounds good, i must have started it 15-20 times today until the neighbors started getting po'd.

quick run down on the car, 29 ford roadster cowl, aluminum doors, dodge touring rear body section, 2x4 frame, speedway enginnering mini quickchange rear, 4 inch dropped 34 axle up front, vw bus steering, turbo 350 trans (i've got size 13 feet no room for a 3rd pedal in a 28-9 cowl for me) 1965 327, roller cam, h&s rockers (need to find a different set of valve covers that will clear them, i'm not really digging the 80's edelbrock ones) edelbrock intake, 3 rochesters, vertex mag, big oil pump, balanced and ported and it sounds like it wants to go to 7k rpm should be fun in a car with a 94 inch wheel base that'll weigh in at less than 2klbs, i want to be able to take on the shifter carts, i need to buy a set of indy slicks to mess with the boys on the twisties.

hopefully i'll take it on it's first drive the end of next week.

here's the pics of the fodge, clusterfuck, love/hate, deathtrap etc.

I dont typically like the "modified" look, but yours is an exception. Looks like a real good time. Very Nice.

    4.75-5.00 17" coker fronts, 600-6.50 17" firestone rears.

jimmy i had to copy you on the headlights:)

actually i just got really lucky on ebay awhile back, they weren't listed under e&j's and didn't have a reserve so i could actually afford them, i have had thoughts of selling them since they would probably just about pay for the rear end but they just work on this car, kinda funny cause they're huge compared to a 903 and the cars really small but i dig em.

  21. sweet looking modified, can you post more picts of it? rear, inside, motor?

    thanks

  27. WOW! Man that is stunning, guess I'd love to see it with a Banger motor running an OHC or a Riley 4 port head but hey you'll have an E-ticket ride with that motor! If you ever do take on some shifter carts we want video! Nice mix of stuff onthe car and the wheels are pure, 100% bitchen as is the color.

I really like the perforated grill insert.. Now if you could come up with a bead around the outside of it it would really rock.. Ive got a nice after market one for my roadster but looking at yours im thinking.. Its the different things that get the looks.. Youve done a fine job and by looking at your car I can tell your very talented and have an eye for detail..

The Fodge looks great Justin!! Sucks to be a perfectionist doesn't it? Never settle for good enough. All that blood sweat and tears eventually pays off and when you're bombing around in it you'll forget all about the pain and suffering. At least until something else breaks... Haha.
OBTW where's the photos and video from Pebble?
