That is not stopping the fun though. The Thunderbolts just built a car in the parking lot under borrowed EZ ups. We have been wondering all night just how do they do this? Here is a pic from the trip down to Joplin. Fiddy Four met me in Minnesota and we drove through really bad rain all through Iowa, it cleared up when we got to Missouri where we met up with No Surf in KC. He took us to Albert Drakes BBQ in KC. Wow what a sandwich. That be No Surf and Fiddy Four, he was flat towing the Willys PU. BB
Is FiddyFour's Willy's Rocky's old one? It looks sweet! I hope you guys didn't get the shit we just got, yuk. But we were due for some good "boomers" anyway, it's only rained like, twice, all summer. Wish I was there. Jay
The owner of our shop just got back from wesconcin and was bummed it rained the four days they were there, non stop. He's lucky he was't here welding and grinding in the high 90s.......
Here is the completed race car, it sounds awsome, can't wait to see it run tomorrow. Phat Rats 41 Guess who????? Watch out for that Texas crowd A Hot Rod (Glenn) Racefab (Freddy) and Wyle E Coyote (John) BB
Can't remember the town, I know they went to a good guys event on saturday................................
We made it from west texas. 600+ miles. Was hoping to make it before dark but got caught in one HELL of a thunderstorm about 100 miles south of Joplin and decided to stop at a bbq joint at pryor OK for some great food and wait it out. We got here about 9:00 and there is still quite a crowd at the Ramada parking lot. ( we are down the street at the Best Western so maybe it will be quiet enough to get some sleep!) Hey if it rains tomorrow there will still be one hell of a party.
Nothing like swapmeet shopping in the RAIN........ two years in a row. the rain has let up some, see ya at track. hope it's dry. Roach crap, more thunder, it's raining again.....!!!!
I just checked the radar and forecast. Looks like the rain has passsed and should be partly cloudy with a high of 88 for the drags today. Bitchin Brad
"A Hot Rod (Glenn) Racefab (Freddy) and I can't believe I forgot his name already, it's just been an hour ago. Well he ain't on the board anyway and he came with Glenn". That other kat is our pal John, known here on the HAMB as "Wyle E Coyote". Here in Florida he's J.O. Hope the weather cooperates for you guys. Have fun, Mike
...the rain has stopped in Tulsa and is moving out of the area. Should be a great racing day...the Ramrods are leaving in about an hour. See you all shortly...
I wish we had the rain here ... It has been over 100 degrees for 14 days in a row ( old record was 12 days ... set in 1900 ) ... Would LOVE to be at the HAMB drags ... but could not make it this year ... maybe 08 in the 3W ... Randy
Freddy and Glenn are sexy bitches...... Where is the ever elusive Kevin Lee,Flat Top Bob and BenD? Are they table dancing again at the Rusty Penny for race fuel again? Ployboy plays a mean marangas.......
I would like to thank all the Thunderbolts and everybody that helped in the assembly of the car in the rain. And the disassembly Saturday night. We couldn't have put the motor in or taken it out by ourselves. Can't wait till next year.
Bob, I was standing next to Ryan when the car went together. His grin was ear to ear. I heard him throw out his bestest compliment "this is RAD".
