Yup, I fired the German built flathead in my 40 this morning, recorded the process from the first cough and splutter. This is a unknown engine, it just had a light hone on the bores (with the pistons still in place) , the valves freed and lapped, a front mount dizzy and a 94 carb bolted on. Check the moment about 1 minute in when I received a belt off the rearmost plug lead. It may also be of interest to some of you to hear the queen's english spoken with a genuine brummy (birmingham) accent! Mart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8aw_W566Dc
I bet your start motor is relieved that it finally fired... Congrats on the progress Mart, Cheers, Drewfus
