Here are a couple pics, after some homework I found the owners name and phone number, I'm calling them tomorrow, I'll keep ya posted. I am interested in this one it is about a 1945 Morris Comercial Truck, But I can see it as a chopped and chanelled Bobber truck on the chassie of the car below it with a straight six hemi.
nice find mate, hey which state r u in? The truck body will fit the chassis nicely, though its some work to git it up to scratch, - I think the cars a 39 chev. Ive got a austin truck body of the same age sitting on the same sort of car chassis
I'm thinking the car's not a Chevy although the vintage is certainly right on, look at how tall the greenhouse area is, makes me think of the larger GM bodies, like Olds or Buick, also note the trunk hinges rap down the lid.
After consulting my spotter's guide, I can say it's not GM, they had the "C" post canted forward. I know it doesn't matter, but it's just a hobby of mine. Lots of luck guys!
You guys have the 10 deadliest snakes in the world in Australia. And judging by that pic, they are probably all in that field!
mate I wouldn't be worried, I live in the bloody country and my front yard is like that.- but with more crap. anyway most of the snakes dont come out until late spring summer, the thing to worry about is bloody bobtails- had a toe "mashed" by one as a little tacker! tyler
A bob tail is a truck with no bed or very short wheel base. By the way what is this straight six hemi? I have heard of them but never seen one.
straight 6 hemi is chrysler australias best kept secret. the manufacturing laws favoured cars with 100% oz content so they built their own engines. in bathurst form -265ci fed by triple side draft webers and some other good stuff- it would crank 300+ hp oh and all you yank iron spotters, keep in mind that a lot of cars were shipped here as chassis only and local companies built bodies for them.
bobtail is a goanna! like a lizard, small reptile with legs and big powerfull jaws that munch toes. they like to live in strawberry patches so sometimes you get a good fright when bending down to grab a nice juicy red strawb.
Be sure to gather all the headlights you can from those old hulks. Alot of those old semis have the headlights with the attached top marker light.
so rameses32 whats happening did you find out anything about the yard or was it the usual "no bloody way mate Im going to do them up" story? it happens alot to me alot
tha'ts an interesting tin farm, got to be some good parts buried in there. Keep us posted with more pics if you can.
