Anybody have pics of or links to Early GTO Drag cars especially with straight axles? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
the cover of garage magazine #8 - not sure the issue # exactly , and you have to do a lot of work to see the goat behind the girl- at least I think it is a goat.... maybe a tempest.... hell it is a pontiac.....
try the book Diggers ,Funnies, G***ers, and Altereds too. there is also a book called funny cars of the sixties. The AWB straight axel gto's were some of the first "funny" cars
Wow that Zettle Bros. Car is awesome, Thanks. I'll keep looking. The Car we are thinking to put a srtaight axle under is actually a LeMans with GTO appointments added so, making it a drag(looking)car isn't such a bad thing.
Dammit, don't post that picture any more. I make mushroom marks on the wall every time it is posted. That car is awesome!
I've seen a pic of a straight axle GTO called the Zombie. Can't seem to find it right now tho. I think it might belong to the guys campaigning a nostalgia car of the same name...
i just bought a cloned 64, but don't tell my wife. seriously, please don't. cody, i got my tires last week. very nice, but that set is for my catalina...
If we ever find some time to take it to the track will find out. Right now we been breaking it in and driving it around.
Here's a picture of mine near the end of it's racing days. If anyone recognizes it I would apreciate learning more about its history. As far as I can tell it raced in California & Southern Oregon. Eric
Wasko, I bought my 66 Chevy big block wagon from this guy. He was going to use it as his tow car for this one.
