I am in the need of a t-5 ****** to go behind my hemi, I found a 91 full size blazer for sale with a manual and I was wondering if anybody knew if it was a t-5 as I don't have the time to look at it.
it is a t-5 BUT the odds are first is a granny best bet is to go with a later camaro 89-92 the WC t-5 is decently strong but banging gears with a mostly stock 350 WILL kill one i think a hemi is just alittle too much on a stock WC T-5 you can however have one built up to tko standards which is MUCH stronger over 500ftlbs
T5 wasn't used in full size trucks....it was used in S-10 blazers look at the trans, does it have the bellhousing and trans as one ***embly? or do they come apart?
If it's the old square body style Fullsize (the K5 version, solid front axle 4x4) then it should be a granny gear 4spd. The newer 92-up body (ifs) should be the ****py *** Getrag (sp?) 5spd. Which you could easily ****ter with a V6 infront of it. I'd hate to see what something with power would do.
T5: S10 1983-up Camaro 1985-1992 Mustang, not sure on years. You have three you-pull-it yards within 45 minutes drive, none of them has a T5? The one I was in today had at least half a dozen 2WD boxy S10s, at least one mid-80s Camaro and one similar Firebird. And I didn't even look over the other half of the yard. Trans ends up like $100 if you pay the core fee.
if a four speed the old granny gear muncie sm 465 if a 5 speed the getrag mg5 it has a non removable bell housing no t-5's in the full size trucks
Basically the truck is on ebay and is going for super cheap because the motor is junk and a few other issue's, I was hoping it had the t-5 five so I could use it and I have a friend that could use the rear axle, then I would s**** the rest and get my money back so I was hoping to get the ****** for free.
